200 million just doesn't buy what it used to does it? hehe.
As a diehard Red Sox fan who doesn't have much time to watch the games anymore, I officially gave them a minimum 4 year grace period earlier this year. So really, as long as the Yankees don't win in that time span either, I'm a-ok with whoever ends up winning, hehe.....although Ozzie Guillen is really frickin' annoying so I suppose I'd rather the White Sox not win also. Go Angels!

I don't understand why people are saying Yankees are buying there way. Yeah they have lots of money and yeah they use it like crazy.
A-Rod for instance- He was not bought, Yankees gave up talent in Soriano and they gave up some good minor league pitchers.
Matsui- Nobody knew who he was when he came over here from Japan. Yankees were the only know that wanted him. They paid him the big bucks cause they knew his potential.
Sheffield- Yankees is where he wanted to go, he didn't want to go anywhere else.
Randy Johnson- gave up top prospects and couple million to get him.
They use their money like crazy, but not everything is bought. They have given up something and somebody in order to get other player.

Everybody knew who Matsui was....he was the freaking home run king of Japan. Arod for Soriano and avg. pitching prospects is not an even trade talent wise...the Rangers wanted to dump salary and only the Red Sox and Yanks could afford it. Sheff didn't want to go anywhere else cause he wanted to win a championship and knew the Yanks would always spend whatever it took to get there. Randy only wanted to go to the Yankees too, and the Dbacks were pretty desparate to give him up....the talent exchanged was not even (although the way Randy pitched this year maybe it was).
The Yankees spend money now to try and win championships. Denying it doesn't help your cause. The best way to help your cause is to talk about how 'buying championships' doesn't work because the Yankees won their 4 recent titles with a team they legitimately built, and not just spent the most money on. It's not like the Yanks are the only team doing it. The Red Sox clearly felt they needed to spend a lot of money to compete....they did it, but they did it in a smart way and were able to win the World Series last year. They clearly bought that championship though...just like the Marlins of '97 did. The Angels have spent a lot of money on their team, and the Mets have thrown tons of money around to try and rebuild their team. Just admit it and move on, hehe.
