On Thursday, SOS made a couple of comments I found very interesting.
1.) He said he may have made a mistake by moving Syvelle Newton to WR. He said he has audibled more in 3 days than the other QB's all year.
2.) He said he did not keep Rick Minter because he didn't know him very well. He went on to say Carolina has good defensive coaches.
3.) He said the team has been doing agility drills this week to try and make them play faster.
THOUGHTS?

Me thinks you's wrong and that Rick Minter didnt do anything at USC, but he probably should've given Svelle a shot at QB but Blake still would've won because Svelle cant throw a 10 yard pass over the middle!!!!!

I think Spurrier is doing his best to deflect responsibility away from the obvious fact of the matter. And the fact is, we don't have enough quality players to compete right now. He has said that before but he can't keep putting his players down, so he changes the angle of his answers to satisfy the question. Players can't keep hearing their coach say that "one day we'll have players that belong in the SEC."

I think moving Newton to WR is the best move for us. He would be a back up qb in the Ol' Ball Coach's system. Newton is too good of a player to be ridding the pine all season. He'll make more play at WR than at QB. Mitchell is a better QB and should be the starter.

He means to use Newton as the BACKUP. He has game experience as a starter.

i don't think anyone would start Syvelle over Blake. Blake's stats do not lie, he is pretty solid. i say let Syvelle play the position that will get him on the field the most, although he did drop that one pass saturday that was placed in his hands. i still would not trade him for anything
