It's USC by 12 1/2 right now. I don't know about that.... I'd take the points on that one...

Thats surprising since our Offense sucks, our Defense sucks, and our Special Teams suck if we dont win this one we wont win one for the rest of the year. I learn to hate Lou Holtz more and more each day!!!!!

What's the prognosis for Mitchell for the Kentucky game? I have heard he will lnot play. May be out until the Vandy game. I was embarassed by Heffner's play. I don't think he is ready for prime time.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Mitchell is out for the Kentucky game. I hope we start Cade Thompson, I'm sure he is better than Antonio Heffner. Even in high school Heffner did'nt play in a offense like this, so he is not right for Steve Spurrier's offense. I think Thompson is a much better fit for the offense, just by his high school number he might be better for Spurrier offense. ( 2500 yrd 33 TD).

I still say start Syvelle, keep Cade's RS intact. Syvelle has a decent arm, he much more elusive than Heffner, and HE'S WON BALL GAMES FOR US BEFORE!!!!!!!!

I think that's pretty accurate. I'll even give SC 14 points this game. The players will be a lot more motivated coming into this one, as it's the first game in awhile that they'll enter knowing that they have a legitimate shot at winning. I think this will get you guys win #3 with few doubts in my mind about it.

Most definitely. This year is 100% finished. The worst move we could make now is to risk an injury to our future, and Cade has the potential to be just that.

Word is Mitchell is walking and the swelling has gone down. I'll bet after the Auburn game Mitchell will want to play even if he couldn't walk. My bet is he plays.

Spurrier said he would make a decision on wednesday...i hope he at least suits up so if Heffner plays terrible and the game is on the line we could always put him in...

I think playing Mitchell early would be a mistake. I think Heffner could gain valuable experience this week vs. Kentucky so that he can become a much better backup in the future. If we play Mitchell too early we could risk losing him for the season and we are going to need him vs. Vandy, Arkansas, and Clemson if we have any chance of beating these teams. And yes, I say our chances vs. UT and UF are about near zero. That is unless their both teams come down with the flu and the local high school team plays in their place.

I think Mitchell stays out of the game Sat. because we are going to need him at 100% against Vandy. The mistakes made against Auburn weren't all Hefner's fault and his stats for a first time starter (on paper) weren't too shabby either. Syvelle might take a snap or two like he did in the Auburn game just to mix things up a bit and give Hef a break. I do think Syvelle is the better QB right now than Hef but Syvelle's future is at WR and that's probably where he stays. I just hope Hef got some good experience and learned a few things the other night because this "should" be an easy win for us believe it or not.

i was amazed at heffners stats though. I'm not saying he can't run the offense, but he did complete 15 of 23, which really isn't that bad. He just has his head up his butt when he plays:)

I will second that

Swing passes that went for -2 yards apiece are what boosted his percentages....

Cade is a much better fit, but we certainly don't want to take a chance on his getting injured, especially with our lack of an OL. I'd rather keep him healty for next year and just chalk up this year. By the way, Cade has already put on a few pounds since he's been at Carolina. I do believe that he is our future.

From what Spurrier said today, sounds like Blake will be ready to go Saturday.

Thank God. We need him. I think we win easily with Mitchell back there. If it's Heffner the game could be close.

I don't see us winning easy. There are too many things that need fixing other than the QB. Heffner is bad. No run blocking, No pass protection, RB making bad reads, Defence can't stop anybody, 3rd down (can't make them and can't stop them). I see this a close game, UNLESS a miracle happens somewhere this week. We are on the way up, from the bottom, that is the only way to move.

I hope Spurrier and Co. will be able to pull this one out, and they should easily. In the UF/UK game Florida passed all over Kentucky during the first half. I think Spur will see that and make his game plan according to Florida's success against them. I don't know anything about the QB situation for you guys, or who might be hurt, but if Blake is available, and is the better passer, that's who needs to be in there. The mobile QB thing just can't work for ya'll right now.
