Fulmer names Rick as starter (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2174725)
Hopefully he doesn't jerk Rick out if he has one bad drive.

Like I said in another thread...... :D
Ole Miss is going to get slaughtered. There's gonna be so much blood on that field, that even Jason Voorhees is gonna be envious. :D

If Fulmer didn't start Clausen and I was a UT fan, I'd be out for BLOOD!!! Clausen should have been the starter since Game 1 IMO.

Honestly, Clausen gives Ole Miss the best chance to keep it close and somehow win. He's slow and stays in the pocket which means we don't have to worry about him running somewhere without Willis in the middle to stop them. Besides, Jayme Mitchell and Corvelli Haynes are probably the two most underrated ends on the SEC.

I think the exact opposite. Having the experienced Clausen behind center, it's going to bite you in the rear. I would think that you're best chance would be against Erik Ainge.
To be honest, Clausen reminds me of Danny Wuerffel. He doesn't have the strongest arm, but he's got the brains and leads his team like no other. It appears to me that the UT offense just doesn't respond to Ainge like they do Clausen.

You could be right but I see him as an easier target for our faster ends. Mitchell, at 6'6" 300 ran down Cutler at near full speed.

I agree with you on the similarities to Danny Wuerffel. I think his bro was similar to #7 in that regard to. At the risk of being a homer, I believe Danny was more of a "student" of the game and understood offense and the QB position better than the Clausen's, but they all have that leadership/little talent trait. I guess it didn't hurt that Wuerffel had Spurrier to tutor him and some awesome recievers to throw to either (the Clausen's get Randy Sanders and recievers who appear to have hands of stone this year)

At the risk of jinxing UT, I just don't see this game being close. If ya'll would've caught us a week or two earlier it probaly would have been close. But after that win Mon., I feel this team has come together and will be tough to beat the rest of the year.

The senior, team captain, and more consistent of the QB's give Ole Miss a better chance, compared to the pressing, turnover prone play of Erik Ainge? You lost me there.
I do look forward to the battle between your defensive line and the Vols offensive line. I've not seen much of Ole Miss, except for part of the Vandy game. More than a few people like the ability of the Ole Miss defensive line. In the end, your poor offensive line play will cost you big against the Volunteers.

Was there ever any doubt that Fulmer would start Clausen after Monday's game? He already looked like an idiot for starting Ainge on Monday, surely he wouldn't make that mistake a second time.

Crusher...you hit the nail on the head. My granny's bridge club could do a more respectable job on the O-Line that the folks we have playing now.

And Vandy still beat you....just like Clausen and Company are going to. Plus, I'd say our O-line is better than that of Vandy...its not so much about the speed in the pocket as it is the protection. Anyone can have time if there is good QB protection.

The last thing that I want to do here is pull an AFWarrior and go on a freak binge about our chances against UTK. However, I DO think that Ole Miss will fair a little better than folks expect. Some of this will be because Fulmer has two big games coming up against UGA and BAMA. I don't think he is going to risk his top guys for very long when he has Ole Miss on the ropes in Knoxville. Our defense is the unit that has most bought in to Orgeron's system, so they will actually be okay. This will be the biggest game yet for the O-Line...one they are not expected to win, so maybe they will actually play for a change. I don't see a 70-17 drubbing in our future, but I do not expect a replay of last year's squeaker in Oxford.

I'll buy that. The only thing that was bad about last year's game was it was on my wedding night....during the reception I was running back and forth between the dance floor and the big screen in the other room to check the game. My wife and I watched the highlights on Sportscenter that night before we passed out from exhaustion of being on our feet for 15 hours straight.
