1. Spurrier says if the team plays without effort, go ahead and boo.

2. Cade Thompson probably to receive a redshirt. Spurrier said he is not ready, and too small to take a weekly pounding.

3. Stand up defense is gone. They will put 8 or 9 in the box if necessary to stop the run.

4. Showing the team UGA and Alabama film this week to teach them how to play offense and defense.

5. Cutting the playbook down several pages due to the fact of players not knowing what to do.

6. Feels the team will play with much more effort this week.

This all sounds logical and very heartening. I already feel we will play better. The coaches show that they are taking charge to do what is necessary on their part to get the team to play better.

Perhaps this sentiment should be posted elsewhere, but there is no logical reason we should be 114th of 117 in rushing defense. Recruiting has been in the top 20 nationally, for the most part, for the last several years; that is where our rushing defense should be, as well. I fully believe that a large part of our defensive woes have been due to a faulty defensive system; perhaps the players became despondent when the system seemed to have gaping holes. Hopefully, the change will give them the confidence to play with vigor, if they see they can hold opposing offenses to 2 to 3 yards rushing, at least occasionally.

I will say that I like the stand up and move around defense for obvious passing downs (3rd and 9+) but it never should have been used as an every-down scheme.

It just makes it easier to see holes for opposing running backs, that's just common sense.

Yeah, big enough for Jared Lorenzen to waddle his wide arse through untouched.

Spurrier is sending a message to the fans to boo the players? I would think under the circumstances he would want the fans to rally around and support the players. What kind of coaching is that? Here's a better idea. Just hand out visors at the gate and when a player makes a mistake everyone in the stands throws the visor down at the same time and call it the STT. (Spurrier temper tantrum).

He only said it was okay to boo if they played without effort. Not for losing or being bad. There is some difference.
