Given that Coach Spurrier has said that no one's position is safe and that some guy's (especially on defense) are playing in unnatural positions, who would you move around to different positions, what frosh would you plug in there, and who would you bench completely? Also, what's up with James Thompson? He was one of the top OG in the country out of high school. I figured he would be a good one, but I haven't heard his name mentioned at all, even in the pre-season.

I think we need to plug in Marvin Sapp somewhere in the defense. I dont know if he has been red-shirted or not but Maybe try him on DE or something. He's probably too small for DE but its worth a try, nothings going right for the defense so you gotta start somewhere. Kerry Bonds is also worth a try at DE. On offense let Taylor Rank get involved in the running game as well. They say he's been doing good in practice so lets see what he can do in live situations. The Lindsey brothers should get some playing time. Both are on defense. Heck give Cade Thompson a shot at QB this week against Troy. We need to put that game away early so some backups can get playing time. If we are going to suck this year, lets suck with Freshmen's so atleast they start gaining experience and they will help us out in the long run.

I say give Heffner a shot on the return team. He obviously isnt going to contribute much as a QB because no one respects the pass when he's in the game. Maybe he should give it a shot at WR or as a back because he is fast and can make people miss. As far as the defense I think we should just set our bench(literally, the inanimate object) out there as our D-Line. Im sure it couldnt do much worse against the run than we are already doing.

Here are my thoughts...

Move Marque Hall to DE. Move Ko back to FS, move Mike West to rover. Give Marvin Sapp a look at outside backer. Pull Fred Bennett in favor Ty Erving. Move Laury back to LB. Get Carlos Thomas more reps on defense.Give Gerrod Sinclair a look somewhere in the defensive backfield. On offense, forget about redshirting Murdock. We need his speed to help stretch the field. More Jonathan Hannah please, he needs to be a bigger part of the offense. Put Stafford and Turman together in the backfield and with Stafford leading the way. Jared Cook could play a huge role with his size and speed. Throw the damn ball to Sidney Rice more!!!!!! My .02....

I say someone call Steve Tanneyhill and get him to re-enroll, while we are at it give Duce Staley, George Rogers, and Sterling Sharpe a call back I'm sure they even ole George could get us a better running game than what we have.

You get your wish with Carlos Beeds. Carlos has moved to defense permanently!! :) Blake is still the starter, and looks like it will remain that way. Spurrier said the other changes would be announced Friday. He fired a shot across Thompson's bow as well in the post practice interview.

I think putting the freshmen in at linebacker would produce the best results. The linebacker position hasn't played with the intensity that it needs to and putting freshmen in who want to earn playing time would help that out alot I think.

I do agree with you there. Two of our linebackers are Seniors and they are not doing the greatest job. So I say give the freshmen's a shot at linebacker. They will gain experience.

Wasnt Jonathan Hannah a top DE out of HS, put him at DE as well as TE, put Marque Hall in the other DE with Doughty at DT and play a 3-4. Carlos Thomas DB full-time, put Walker and Sapp in there at LB.KO at FS, West at Rover. Leave Murdock red-shirted we have enough WRs, get Dacuss some damn carries!!!!!Leave Blake at QB.

As of today, about half a dozen changes on defense thus far. I will post em here in a bit. Little teaser. Bennett and Joseph have both been benched. ;)

Ok, here we go. These came out today, with more coming later this week.

1. Carlos Thomas and Tremaine Tyler start at CB, replacing Bennett and Joseph.

2. Marvin Sapp to start at LB.

3. Dakota Walker and Nathan Pepper have had redshirts pulled, and will compete for starting jobs this week.

4. Charles Silas and Jordin Lindsey start at DE, a position that has resulted in 0 sacks through 3 games. They replace Coley and Josh Johnson.

5. James Thompson starts at OG, and Jamon Meredith starts at OT.

6. Sidney Rice starts at WR, while Newton is moved to the slot receiver.

I think that Hurley should be moved back outside. He clearly had more sucess at outside backer. He's not fast enough to be in the middle IMO.

One other quick note. James Thompson was a highly recruited lineman out of Sumter, and weighs in at 6-4 314.

Yeah Thompson was very highly recruited. Named to the High School Sports Report 2003 Statewide All-State Team as an offensive lineman ... Named second team USA Today All-American ... Played in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio ... Ranked the 44th-best player in the country by Tom Lemming ... Ranked the #3 prospect in the state of South Carolina by Tom Lemming ... Ranked the 37th best offensive tackle in the nation by Rivals.com ... Four year starter at Sumter High ... As a senior, he graded out at 85% and had 28 knockdown blocks ... Had 64 knockdown blocks during his career ... Played for Coach Phil Sorrells at Sumter High.

I would like to see Cade thompson play backup...not AH. Also I want to see Taylor Rank, maybe the next Brewer. Also I think Fred Bennet is number 8, but whoever is number 8 needs to be taken out immediately. Stinking up the entire field. Heres another thing...what the hell happened to Ko's hands!!!!!!!!!??? It's so frustrating to be a gamecock right now.
