I was really dissapointed in a lot of our brothers in spur tonight. The stadium emptied fairly quickly in the 2nd half, I'm not saying everyone has to stick around until the very last tick has gone off but you gotta think about recruiting. There was a discussion on the post-game show about this and I didn't really realize the effect it could cause. The comment was made that every time we are on tv, especially nationally, we are recruiting. How does it look to the kids thinking about S.Car if they see an empty stadium before the midway point of the third quarter. I mean the student section was at least 2/3 empty by then and a lot of the rest of the fans followed suit soon afterward.

Id stayed for the entire game, hell I was there for all of the 63-17 beat down from you know who. The students are always lowsy especially the he soroity chicks who are there because their friends are, and the drunk frat boys who cant even stand up by the half.

I left with like 3-4 mins in the 3rd quarter to go...right after they scored again. The combination of the sun, being hungry with the though of wings still at the tailgating spot, and having the you-know-what beat out of us was just enough to get me out of there. I know it doesn't look good but we still sell out everygame almost so that's a plus.

If I had been at the game I would have stayed up until the final play...sloppy, disgusting, terrible game it was :( I noticed how empty our stands were and it made me feel even more terrible than I already was feeling at that point :(
I would have left when it was obvious the game was over, and it doesn't make me less of a fan, if I wanted to see the gamecocks get killed I would just go to my memories over the past 22 years and remember the good times....

I left after halfway through the 3rd quarter. Mostly because I wanted to beat traffic and drink beer. Sue me.

I don't think any one is a "less of a fan" for leaving early, I was just commenting on what I thought yesterday while watching it on TV...
Yeah, if you're a gamecock fan, you're definately not less of a fan for leaving early, they put us through this homo crap every year, I'm sick of it, it's really gay....

I think USC officials should consider the players and fans at little more. Do we need the TV money that much that we make our players play in extreme heat or our fans sit in 100+degree direct sunlight during the hottest part of the day? If they want to televise our games then we should set some parameters about when we will be willing to do it. How about saying, 'no, it's hard on the teams and the fans to play games in September in Columbia in the middle of the freakin' day!!' Go televise someone else. We should play late summer games at 7:30 p.m. or 11:00 a.m. 3:30 is just stupid. The East stands are brutal enough to begin with. Yep, I left. I watched the rest of the game at our tailgating spot with the 35 or so of us that can't sit together. We never leave the tailgate until at least an hour after the game.

Just another perspective. Have we ever considered maybe that is a good thing the fans left? Maybe that will show this team and coaching staff we deserve better here. Perhaps staying till the end lets this team know being mediocre is still ok. Yes, it hurt them, but then again maybe it should. That game was pitiful. Was Alabama better? Sure. But that was a pitiful performance. We can say we don't have the players. I say BS. That was a total mental breakdown by this team, and in the conference that is not acceptable. Will the going be rough right now? Looks like it. However, why not start NOW to try and get better instead of getting your tail kicked every week and say let's wait till next year. I am talking about coaches and players. This team needs some fire. They have none.

The Saints would disagree with you. Fans leaving doesn't help.

Look, I was there and it was stupid hot. My wife and I were baking in the endzone and left early on in the fourth quarter. Someone mentioned earlier that the coaches and players need to see us leave after a performance like that and I agree. One of the drunk students was verbally berating the whole section for leaving and not cheering, but I have a different take on the subject. It's about time that we stop being such a blindly faithful Gamecock nation and demand a decent product on the field. When 80,000 plus show up to watch an annual beatdown, that says a lot about our tolerance. I wish I had been sitting in the front row behind the players. After every three and out the kids on the offensive side of the ball would come back to the sideline and stand around shrugging their shoulders. No guts, no heart, it was all quite sad. Anyway, that's my two cents worth. I'm not even looking forward to the Troy game. If I thought I could sell my tickets I would.

spurrier WILL NOT stand to be embarrassed like this he will fix it . it probably wont happen this season though

I agree. Spurrier was probably a lot more irritated than we'll ever know. He's just not used to such a pathectic display. May take him a while to recruit some skill players.... and some horses for both lines.

Your fans always leave early. That is a sign of a LOSER program, or the way auburn spells it LOOSER program.

Come on now... our fans, especially student section, have had a habit of doing that in recent years when we've had a bad loss too. It happens everywhere. So I guess by your justification, we're a "Loser program" as well??

The past few years, YES. USC has a tradition(Sorry Neo for using the T word) of fans leaving early. You can't honestly say that USC has anyhting to be proud of in their history or future. The only thing South Carolina has ever done good was start the War Between the States.

Clemson would beat down the Tide. Nice come back richard. I think somebody who wants you to pump their gas just pulled up. I doubt you even went to Bama.

What the Clemson comment or the gas station comment? Have you watched any of Clemson's games this year? They have a damn good team. Chances are it could be a Bama/Clemson peach bowl so we could soon find out....

Hey hey now everybody! Let's keep it civil. Just eat some cheese and settle down. Think of a spring day as a waterfall cascades over the nubile bodies of 19 year old Coppertone girls. RTR
P.S The only way that Clemson could hang with the Tide is if Ken Hatfield was brought back to coach the game.

Well, talk to your boy Tidefan (I corrected his misspelling). He's got no class. I took our loss like a champ so I don't want to be called a sore-loser.

Nah, check his profile Beeds. He doesn't work at a gas station. His profile says: "I don't have time for a job." The meaning of that statement.....Not only can he not spell his beloved school's name, but no one will hire him either. Not surprising.;)

You have a lot of class Scooter. NOT!! Your one of the ones that make Bama so proud. Your board is up towards the top, and starts with an A. The rest of you Bama fans are welcome in this discussion.

In defense of leaving early, I never do, but if you pay good money to see a football game and there ain't one, then I guess it's okay to go find a TV that maybe has one on. I don't think Carolina has the patent on fans leaving early. I have been to a lot of road games and stadiums have emptied early everywhere. If you say your fans could sit in the hot sun and withness a game like this, then you might be lying.

I normally stay to the end of the game be it bitter or sweet . But, hot as hell, score at 37-7, I figured it was time for a vodka tonic. I was out of there.
