First, I just want to say great game. I wasn't expecting a blowout. However, I was expecting a better performance from our offense. The point spread was a trap from the beginning. We were set up to lose that game. Thankfully, DJ stepped up on 3rd and 22 and kept the drive going. If we don't convert that 3rd down, I honestly think we lose that game 18-17. Now, onto your team.

-Your secondary is incredible. Especially Ko Simpson. He read DJ like a book. He has incredible closing speed and perfect technique. He needs to work on his hands though.

-Blake Mitchell is going to be a great QB for Spurrier. When he had time to throw, he made all the right throws.

-You still need to find a running game.

-Run defense needs some work.

-I still do not understand that stand up crap that your defense does.

-Sidney Rice is going to be a star.

-Its obvious that Spurrier's still got it. He outcoached Richt plain and simple.

-I never thought that South Carolina would ever double us up in passing yardage. I am just glad that we have a running game.

- I strongly believe that Spurrier is going to make South Carolina a player in the SEC.

This is stuff you all probably know, but I just thought I would share my opinions with you all. Good luck the rest of the way.

Apparently, the Carolina players do not understand it yet, either.

I think Carlos Thomas will be a great player as well. I love two-way players. That INT he had was awesome.

Ask DJ that same question you might get a different answer, plus were only given up 16pts a game so we must be doin somethin right.

My point was that your secondary looks very very good, but that stand up crap had no effect. The primary reason that the rush got to Shockley was coverage and you certainly aren't going to suggest to me that standing up helped anything. It was just as silly as the three-headed quarterback thing that Cutcliffe used or the failed experiment with the no-huddle offense that virtually everyone (except Tommy West) has now abandoned. By the third or fourth game of the season, everybody has seen it.

Carolina is good...they don't need that gimicky crap.

I Think The Stand Up Stuff Has To Do With Speed. We Are About 50 Lbs A Man Smaller And You Can Get Off Your Block Faster. This Defense Is Built On Speed. That's Why We Blistered Uga Lineman To Dj But They Ran The Ball At Will. I Am Still Not Sure Why Uga Even Thru A Pass Against Us! If They Would Have Ran Every Play Our Defensive Lineman Would Have Been Out Of Gas At The Half. Carolina Played Their A@* Off Sat Night And I Think They May Have Earned A Little Respect In The League. Teams Like Auburn And Ala. Can Go Back To Their Schedule And Erase That "w" From Beside Our Name!

I see what your saying but haven't you ever heard the saying "the low man always wins"? Standing up straight does nothing but let opposing offensive lines gain leverage.

Also, I didn't really help with pass rushing either, you guys only had 1 sack.

While they weren't offically sacks, he was tackled for loss. Which, offfical or unoffical he was on the ground.

Not sure if I like the defensive stance either, but if it's good enough for Spurrier to keep, then I won't complain. I believe if it doesn't accomplish anything then Spurrier will get rid of it like a bad habit.

Definetly, anytime you start from a 2pt. stance and try to take on a man in a 3pt. stance you are going to lose. I heard the guys calling the game talking about how Richt didn't understand the stand up thing and decided to not even look at it. Maybe that is the idea behind, someone thinks that the other guys won't understand it and just look past it.

the stand up, dancing around thing is suppose to confuse the O-line, hopeing to pull them off of there assigned blocks to create holes to get the QB. it worked against UCF but UGA has the best O-line ive seen and it didnt work against them. the problem with it though is it makes it MUCH easier to run the ball. which has really shown the first 2 games

Dude, thank you for the kind words, and congrats on the win. The stand up thing can be very confusing for offensive linemen on PASS plays. The key to it is making sure you guess right and don't get run on up the middle. It is designed to hide blitzes, coverages, etc. It has not worked real well, and personally I wouldn't mind us doing away with it. Spurrier seems to like it fine, so I am sure they will continue to use it some. I was sort of surprised to see it against UGA's running game, knowing how dangerous those backs can be in the secondary.

UT uses that ploy sometimes. I don't think that it should be used on teams that have a good run game. We used it against Grossman and the Gators in the swamp one year and pounding him badly (we had henderson and haynesworth). They never ran it and we won though Rex stood in there under the pressure and threw for big yardage. I think that it was ill-advised against UGA.
