I understand the stress and pressure that was on my my bayou bengals but watching our cornerbacks get scorched and no pressence of a pass rush has me contemplating suicide already. Bo Pellini has got to find a remedy before the vols come in to town. Hopefully it will be at night on espn.

Actually, even though I think that UTK is a much better team than ASU, I do think that ASU's passing attack is more sophisticated than UTK's. Ultimately in playing a PAC-10 team you have to decide to give up a big chunk of airspace and win between the 20's.

ASU had no ground game at all. UTK does. ASU has only one decent QB who finally started to run out of gas. UTK does have a number two guy who could be a starter at another school.

I have put my money on LSU for this game.

Welcome to Bo Peep's world....
All during the game, Gateaux, I kept thinking of what you had said about Bo Peep, and it kept echoing in my mind, "Damn, Gateaux was right. This SOB doesn't know jack-$hit about defense!" Keller kept hitting those same passes over and over. The corners were awful and Keller seemed to have enough time to take a stroll around the pocket while he looked for a suitable receiver. If we don't get better before we meet the likes of Leak, Ainge/Clausen, Croyle, Cutler, Cox, Conner, etc., it could be awful. The offense, including JaMarcus Russell, is going to be fine, but the defense (and the defensive coordinator) suck big time!

Done...
You guys were right on target. I hope Pelini didn't put a big down payment on his house because he may not be here that long.

It was tough because the Gator game was on (as was the OSU game)....so, I had to keep flipping around the whole time. But what I did see of the game was what I thought I'd see. You have better athletes than that...they were the same thoughts I had when I watched OU last year. I thought l-essU might struggle a bit in the defensive secondary but not that much. Bo isn't a good Xs and Os guy, and he has moderate-to-poor adjustment ability. A major part of the problem is that you can't play location-specific zone schemes, like Bo does....especially against a good passing team with a QB who studies film. The reads are MUCH easier, and the same plays will work because the defensive players will be in the same positions pretty much every time.

Congrats to l-essU, though, for hanging in there and getting it done under very difficult--and unfair, imo--circumstances (i.e., having to play in Tempe), but Bo Peep should send thank-you gifts to ASU's special-teams coordinator. Two TDs off of special-team miscues saved the day. The tiggers won a game they shouldn't have won.

And how about Less Miles' fake punt call deep in l-essU territory?? Pretty risky....VERY risky, and just the type of call that could cost the tiggers a close SEC game down the road. I told ya: questionable coaching decisions from Miles and Bo Peep are likely to keep l-essU from realizing their full potential....IMO, of course.

And how about Less Miles' fake punt call deep in l-essU territory??That scared the crap out of me! In retrospect, I was pretty pleased with our offense, though, and especially with JaMarcus Russell. Lots of good passes were dropped, but that will improve, I'm sure. Also, all three of our running backs (Carey, Vincent, and Addai) looked good. I would have rotated them a little more, but I think that will come, too. It's the D that has me very concerned. BoPeep better get his $hit together before we play Tennessee or we'll have a tough time stopping the Vols and BoPeep will have a tough time keeping his job.

No, I watched it at home. Most of those at the stadium were students, I think.
I plan to be there on Sept. 24th, though, for the Tennessee game.

Here's a great quote from a Tiger board:
All Hail The Second Coming of Lou Tepper
Posted on September 10, 2005 Yeah, yeah, we know: we should be glad we won under such unusual and unfavorable circumstances. And we we are glad. But 560 yards of offense, including 462 passing? They must be working overtime mopping up the drool in Tennessee and Florida right about now.

And another...
If Pelini has put in a “bend-but-don’t-WIN” defense, he might as well cash out his house now while the market’s hot and the tar (& feathers) isn’t.

And another...
When was the last time we had a coach with no emotion, no zeal, no passion on the sidelines, and a defense that was as pourous as a sponge. By the way, could someone teach our DB’s basic coverage. Oh yeah, and that screenpass, learn to recognize it. Not to be too negative, our QB seems to be really special. I think our O will be ok.

So, already, and justifiably so, the Tiger faithful is putting BoPeep under the microscope. He better find some defense!

No matter how ugly or lucky, I'm just glad the SEC got another ooc win. These days a win shouldn't be taken for granted, ex. Iowa.

Here is an Update on the faked punt: Coach Miles not only did not call the fake but was as surprised as we all were when it happened. Ronnie Prude called it on the field based upon some pre-determined criteria the special teams coach outlined. My understanding is Coach Miles was very unhappy with the call. Thats kinda funny!!

But anyway, it worked.

Great! So Miles isn't even coaching the team....lol! I hope the players know what they're doing then... ;)

Yeah, but I'll bet you'll be hard to find Sunday... you'll be making the rounds at those crow-eating functions.
