Perpetual punching bag Ohio stunned Pitt in Frank Solich's debut at one of the worst football teams in the country. The big story, however, is not Ohio's win, but Pitt's loss. Pitt ran back the opening kickoff and then failed to score for the next 58 minutes and 45 seconds. A field-goal tied the game with 7 seconds left.

Tyler Palko, who looked brilliant at times last season was 13 for 26 with 3 interceptions. The third interception, unfortunately, was in overtime and was returned 85 yards for a touchdown. BTW, of the 13 completed passes 7 were completed in the final drive.

Pitiful performance. Wannstedt was a mediocre NFL coach, he is a pretty bad NCAA coach.

I wasn't ready to jump on the ND wagon after a win against Pitt last week. It was a win, but why do you think they are called Pitt. Ditto on the comment about Wannstedt.

The Trojans are breathing a sigh of relief.

They look good compared to the ND teams of recent years, but not compared to Michigan. Today's game will be around:
ND 24
Michigan 38

Weis is an excellent coach and that RB of Notre Dame's is a stud. Very good football team IMO.

I know UGA has a good stable of RB's, but I bet they wished they would have recruited ND RB Miles, from GA, a little harder know.

My bad, you're right. He played HS ball at Buford HS, a powerhouse team here in GA.

Notre Dame doesn't look all that bad, but Michigan has done everything conceivable to assure an Irish victory.

Michigan fans just got my vote for "Georgia fans moved up north", did you see how they were acting throwing crap on the field. Try to represent your university with a little more digintiy.

I guess the ACC just moved up to rank as the 2nd best conference in the country. This will be even more obvious if Ohio State loses to Texas. I would also like to see WF beat Nebraska because that would mean that a low tier SEC beat a team that a once-powerhouse program couldnt beat. Man....Im so freakin glad college football is back:)

I agree that the Michigan fans were not very classy today, but I don't have any experience with UGA fans being that way. I couldn't believe they were actually booing their offense at the end of some crappy drives. That's a way to pump up your team! More than likely it pumped up the Irish more than their team. Give partial credit to the Michigan fans for pumping up the Irish to take the win.

Other than that, it was a great played game by ND. I think its a great start for a new coach, and I'm sure the players are trusting him more and more after each of his wins.
