View Full Version : Fulmer hot about effort against UAB

"Offensively, it was the silly interceptions, the silly dropped balls, the tip-toeing around of running backs, the tip-toeing around by the offensive linemen," Fulmer said. "We came out and practiced not tip-toeing."
I'm glad that Fulmer did not try to play it down. While the Vols moved the ball on UAB up and down the field, the lack of physical play was pitiful. Seeing as Fulmer's favorite football is a team imposing its will on the opponent, nobody on the team should feel the best about last week's game. It sounds like more motivation for the trip to the Swamp.
Fulmer not happy (http://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050907/SPORTS0601/509070425/1345/SPORTS)

Ya'll better get motivated. The thunder that you hear in the distance is the growl of those Gators in the Swamp. I think they smell blood and they're waiting...

Yes, they need to be more physical
Im not that worried thou, I trust we will iron out the wrinkles
We may lose to the Gators but I promise you it will be close and the hardest game Urban has ever experinced plus his first real SEC game. But I dont think or hope we dont lose.

You'll see it sorta like this: Leak to Jackson 43 yds....Leak to Caldwell 20 yds....Leak to Baker 17 yds TD!!!
I'd say that'd be a nice way to start your first drive in the SEC...

Well, you have two weeks to turn into a "real" defense, lol... ;)
You left yourself open on that one.....and the offense is hardly "wacky" if more than a handful of teams--quite a few in major conferences, btw--are using it.

From what we've seen of the Vols, I think the Gators will win; maybe big. I just hope you both physically exhaust one another so that when each of you gets to the Bayou, you'll be dragging. Then we can sing that lovely refrain, "When you're dragging, we'll be bragging..."

There you go posting like you have no clue about football ;) :D The game is going to be a fantastic game. It will not be a blowout. Just remember that a Chris Leak led Gator team has never beaten the Vols and the Vols have never lost when a Clausan starts against the Gators. Heck, if the Vols win in two weeks, we might have to rename the Swamp, Neyland South.

It really should be a GREAT game. Maybe one of the better ones of the college football season. I expect it to be very exciting. I think Urban is holding a lot back and we'll get to see some trickeration from Meyer just for UT  . Win or loose, either teams fans should she an exciting game.

I heard there was a conspiracy. Phat Phil conspired with Ainge to look horrible to throw the Gators off. DisturbinUrban, on the other hand, showed everything he has (and doesn't have; i. e., a running game), so now Phat Phil and the Vols are poised to swoop into the Swamp, catching the hopelessly outwitted Gators with a false sense of security, as they unleash the real Ainge, throwing the secret long pass to... Riggs!! Gonna be something, for sure, yeah.

GeauxTo did you ever watch Urban's offense at Utah? I mean it was A LOT different. If he showed all of his offense so far then UF just can't understand it and he only has a few plays he feels comfortable running....

Actually Tn lost with Casey in the swamp 3-4 yrs ago I believe.. They lost big he kept droppin snaps.. But ainge aint gonna be startuing this game It will be Rick and I actaully have a lot of faith in him.. Hes got a bad rep from his Brother, but hes done some good things. and has a pretty damn good rating.. Ainge will rotate with him only if he starts doing bad.. ANd you cant say we TN dont have a running game come on man.. Riggs had a 1000 plus last yr sharing with Houston. And weve got a bad ass fershman no1 knows about either HAHA. We do have a nice Def. Guess youve never heard of Kevin Simon or Jason Allen SEC's ;eading tackler last yr Roshaun Fellows all american last yr Jonathan Hefney is really nice too.. LBs Kevin Simon, Omar Gaither and Jason Mithchel are very nice.. Weve even got some great WR just didnt have agreat game last week..Robert Mechem and Jayson Swain and not mention underated Chris hannon.. Can always count on him when games get ruff
Lamrcus Coker I would like to see this guy run.. Look at this Ranked #2 all purpose all purpose RB in teh COUNTRY by Rivals.com
Rushed for 893 yrds and 11tds last yr in ONLY 5 games.. We have a very young but promising team.. We was like ranked 3rd in recruiting.. Anyways TN always plays close games they leavfe you on the side of your seat like a thriller movie biting your nails and gettin pumped up and scared.. They are like a rollercoaster.. We will play some very close games but win in the end.. If you a tn fan.. You know we always come back in the 2nd half.. Its like we play hard enough to barely win lol... Were not a cocky team Phillip Fulmer does us right
