I don't understand why many of you are already counting out auburn. We had 5 second half turnovers and several costly penalties, and we still had a good shot to win the game. Those mistakes are fixable, and likely due to the inexperience of some of the players. If some of you guys think that you are just gonna beat the crap out of us cause we lost one game, you're in for a rude awakening come one saturday.

Well Arkansas had 5 turnovers and still won 49-17, but Georgia Tech is a good team this year. We played Mizzu St. and they are good for a AA team, they have some of our old players that were kicked off the team for different reasons.

To answer your question, too many stars are gone, and Tubberville isn't the best coach out there, I think you guys will make a bowl, but not a BCS birth.

OK, don't hate the Hogs based on me, judge fairly if you can be adults... Based not on hate!

1) LSU
2) Georgia uhhhh...
3) Flordia
4) Tennessee
5) Arkansas
6) Alabama
7) Miss St.
8) Auburn

you honestly think we are worse than mississippi state? i think that is the defenition of thinking we aren't anything to worry about. Arkansas had 5 turnovers and won...against a 1AA team. I don't care if they won the national championship at the 1AA level, they are still 1AA, and have nowhere near the talent a 1A team has. I'm talking about 5 turnovers against a BCS conference team, and still having a chance to win the game. There is no doubt that the team needs some improvements, but don't overlook us.

Never said we'd make a BCS bowl. Tuberville won coach of the year honors by just about everyone giving out an award, i think he's one of the best out there.

No offense to you, but I don't really think that you have that much football knowledge. No doubt you are a fan of Arkansas, but I think for the most part you are a little off on things.

Georgia Tech isn't ranked, they will be thanks to Auburn probably. No offence to you but you lost 4 1st round picks to the NFL. Also we did play a AA team, but they had a few of our better players that got kicked off the team and aren't terrible. We also sat 4 starters the whole game due to injuries.

I don't think you are worse than Miss St, but they have an easier schedule. They looked balanced and you guys didn't maybe the teams you played, but the game I saw wasn't impressive.

Tubberville had a great 2004 senior class, but he can't coach!

i'm pretty sure Georgia Tech will have a good season this year if reggie ball can keep his head on straight. no offense, but georgia tech probably has two 1st rounders playing for them right now. no offense, but Mizzu St. probably has no draft picks playing for them. no offense taken to losing 4 first rounders. just shows what good talent and coaching can do, which is why i think you are underestimating us. Don't think many coaches who don't know how to coach can go undefeated, JMO.

I already talked about our balance of play calling in another thread and how i was dissappointed in it. I highly doubt that will happen again. Just so you know Arkansas was just as balanced as Auburn was. Miss. St. played another 1AA team.

All in all if you think the entire last year for auburn was just because of talent alone, then you should still be worried about us, because we have more talent than Arkansas.

just for kicks to add, brandon cox threw for 342 yards on his debut against a very good defensive team. 342 yards is the most ever by an auburn player in his debut.

He won't win in Arkansas this year! Also I beg to differ on the talent this year! Our O-line is ranked top 10 in the nation, our rushing is #1 in the nation, we have 3 parade all americans in our backfield and one of our best recieving corps we have had since Clint Storner. Next year we get Mitch Mustain, so look foward to playing us the next 4 years bud! Good luck you need it! Bama is better than Auburn this year.

I think you might want to look at auburn's roster on BOTH sides of the ball before you say who has the better talent.

mitch mustain is a senior in high school, i'm not worried about him until he steps on the field of a college stadium. if you want to talk high school talent, go to rivals.com and look at some of the guys that auburn has already gotten. there is plenty of talent there.

Georgia Tech came in with a great game plan and kept our defense off balance for 2 drives. After the first quarter, Tech couldn't hardly move the ball at all. Auburn out gained Tech in that game and had more first downs. The penalties and turnovers are what lost the game.

I'd hate to be MSU this week cause the mental miscues are easily fixed and the Tigers are going to be mad as hell. I'd wait and see how the hogs play against a real college before I get too excited about this season.

I'm not counting Auburn out yet. I expected them to struggle a little offensively in their first game, with an entirely new backfield and playing against a very solid GT defense. I did expect Auburn to squeak out a win, but the loss didn't surprise me one bit. Also, as far as I can tell, everyone is still equal in the SEC going into this weekend (0-0).

don't listen to AFwarrior. he's a tool. auburn started with a tough game. cox showed his inexperience. he has a few cupcakes in the schedule to get settled down. as much as i hate to admit it, auburn will be ok this season.

I agree...GT is better than they were getting credit for before game.

Georgia Tech is a decent team this year and they have a legitimate shot at beating Virginia Tech and I believe they will beat both Miami and FSU (if they play them). As for Auburn, I don't count them out at all. If they were going to lose a game, this was the one, they are still 0-0 in the conference and can still win or compete for the SEC west. They will improve, however, the only thing that irritates me about Auburn is their coach. I'm sorry all you Auburn fans, but Tuberville is as arrogant as Steve Spurrier use to be, he is just quiet about it. He really erked me when he said that this year's Auburn team will be better than last year's team that went 13-0.

Auburn will finish 2nd in the SEC west and possibly first with LSU's murderous schedule.

Tuperville said he felt like this years team (overall) was more talented. He also said that they lacked the leadership of last years squad. (which was apparent)

I think the fact that Gene Chizik left for Texas hurt them just as much as loosing the 1st round backfield.

When they showed David Gibbs on the sidelines he looked confused. You could tell during that halftime interview that Tubs was not too pleased with the defense. I couldn't understand why they were playing Tech's recievers so soft and why they were'nt doubling up on Calvin Johnson at the start of the game. They were definitely out coached in the first half. Tuperville needs to step back and re-evaluate his pre-season routines cause they always seem to come out flat for the first game.

I'm a little down on Auburn after the gtech game because they really should have won. I mean, watching the second half it was clear to me that Auburn was the better team and should be able to march down and win the game. Nevertheless, Auburn just wouldn't do it. They didn't have the will, tho i think they were better.
