While I hate the fact that we gained a "moral" victory, I am extremely proud of the sheer grit and will that UK displayed against UofL in 3 1/2 quarters of football. I must also say, I am pleased that UK covered the spread and didn't allow the Cards to ring up 70 points, like they wanted to.
For as young and inexperienced as our team is, I was really impressed with their resilience in the face of a difficult first half.
I hope they don't revert to the habits of past Cat teams that tend to "play down" to their competition when they have a perceived edge. Having said that, I fully expect this team to win their next two games vs Idaho State and Indiana, and build more confidence, too. I fear that injuries will ultimately dash any hopes of a winning season, though, since we're so thin. But, I'll sure be rootin' for the Cats the whole way!! GO CATS!!!
