Two players with New Orleans roots received good news Thursday. Freshman Rudy Odom, who is from Mandeville, La., talked to his parents for the first time since Hurricane Katrina hit. Linebacker Patrick Trahan finally heard from his father, a younger brother and sister. Alonzo Horton, who learned an aunt died soon after the hurricane hit, is still waiting for word from some other family members.
Auburn and the American Red Cross will take up donations at the next week during the home game against Mississippi State. The money will be used to help the hurricane victims.
