I was not expecting to hear that Peerless Price and Junior Rosegreen were being let go by their NFL teams. I thought Price had a decent outing in the preseason game I watched a little of the other night. I didn't get to see Rosegreen in action, but I thought he had enough potential to hang around. I don't think either of them are gone from the league, but I'm not sure who will pick them up.

Yes, I was pretty surprised. Also a little surprised that Rohan Davie was let go as well. Maybe they'll all stay in the NFL.

There are just so many good QBs out there. I'm not taking shots, but Rohan is a tad slow for the NFL. I think he should go to Europe for a season and try again next year.

Oh, I agree. He is slow afoot, a little slow in picking up the D, and he gets hurt a little too easily for such a big man. Europe might be his cup of tea. As for Rosegreen, he always operated in the shadow of Carlos Rogers, so I thought he might break out in the NFL; but isn't he a little on the smaller size?? Price, on the other hand, should find a home somewhere in the NFL.

Yeah Price will go to the Eagles or Steelers, I could see why Davey was released Matt Cassell is having a good preseason and Flutie is a legend in the Northeast so there not going to release him. Davie will go to the Dolphins and reunite with Saban.

being a falcon fan, i'm glad they let price go, he wasn't doing anything one of the younger guys couldn't do, and i really think he was in a bad situation. Vick is never gonna throw for 4000 yards or anything like that so price was never going to make fans happy. he'll have a better career somewhere in a more traditional system.

I knew rosegreen was gonna get cut. he's just a little too small to be a safety in the nfl. he is a hard nose player and would be an excellent special teams player, and would be a decent safety if given a chance, but i don't think anyones going to give him a chance.

I wholly blame Michael Vick for Price's being cut. I wouldn't mind seeing Peerless end up in Pittsburgh (Steelers fan here ;) ) but I don't see it happening. The Eagles, on the other hand, never seem to mind picking up on other teams' rejects & they desperately need a WR with experience to act as TO insurance in case his ego explodes mid-season and they need to pull a Jon Gruden and bench his arse just because (a la KEYSHAWN).

I also agree 100% with SIMHB...Saban is looking at his QB's in Miami and wondering how it got that bad. I'm surprised he hasn't brought another one in already...and since he has history with Davey, I would think it depends on how good their relationship was at LSU whether he'll be in South Florida. Mobility isn't Davey's NFL problem...it's his accuracy and inability to execute the Pats' offense as well as Bielichick would like.

A humerous note I found regarding Peerless Price and his tenure in Atlanta:

"During his time with the Falcons, WR Peerless Price was paid $9,026 per yard and $2.1 million per touchdown."

Man...imagine if Randy Moss was paid using that scale!

That is exactly Price's problem... he was on the same pay scale as Terrell Owens and Randy Moss, however, his production was third place among the receivers on his team. The Falcons freed up a fortune by releasing Price. Watch Price sign with another team for only $1 million instead of the $8 million annually on his previous contract.
