Like most Baton Rouge residents, football coach Les Miles was without power in his home Monday after Hurricane Katrina roared through New Orleans.

"We've never had our power out before," said Miles, an Elyria, Ohio, native who moved in January with his family from Stillwater, Okla., to become the LSU coach.

Power may not be restored for three or more days, city officials said.

The Tigers will work out at 3 p.m. Tuesday in preparation for their season opener at 7 p.m. Saturday against visiting North Texas.

"We wouldn't think we'd have to postpone the game," said LSU assistant athletics director Herb Vincent.

The stadium, undergoing construction of a new west upper deck, sustained no visible damage Monday.

"The stadium made it through the storm very well," said Yates Construction spokesman Kenny Bush.
