Listed are the top 10 programs of players who have completed their bachelor's degrees. The list does not include December 2005 graduates.
1. Miami (Fla.) 11
2. Auburn 9
Boston College 9
Louisiana Tech 9
5. Virginia Tech 8
6. Alabama 7
Arizona State 7
Kentucky 7
Notre Dame 7
10. Arkansas 6
Michigan State 6
Good to see the state of Alabama well represented on that list. Also, the SEC as well.

That is kinda cool. Thanks for the post. Don't know that it means much, but imo, you can't have enough fifth-year seniors on your team.

Let's look at this from another perspective. In any given year, a school will give scholarships to 21 "student-athletes", plus another 7 walk-ons.
So 4 years later, the best football factories are only graduating 8 or 9 players? This is really sad...

Actually these numbers are quite good if you take transfers, hardships, injuries and those who choose to leave early for the NFL into consideration.

But you've also got to consider that some sometimes leave early (NFL), don't complete their degree in 4 years (the average for ALL college students is between 4.5 and 5 years now), or have personal issues (like family problems, illness, etc) that prevent them from attending for 4 years.
The majority of football players do end up graduating at most schools, with the exception of NFL draftees and those mentioned above with personal problems preventing them from doing so.

How big are the senior classes of the univeristies? How many 5th year seniors are involved?
The obvious good news is that having guys who have already graduated, means you probably have more leaders. This is great news for these schools. Kudos to the kids who have graduated, you have become men.

Bama's Senior class is pretty small (like 15 I think). So half have already graduated and I think about 5-7 more are scheduled to graduate this december.
