I was wondering what you guys think about the Gamecocks' upcoming performance in the opening game. Will we look inept and pathetic (offensively)? Do you think we'll struggle and (assuming we win) pull out a close one? Will we play a hard-fought game but show flashes of brilliance? Or will we totally dominate?
It is my fond desire that we win by, at least two touchdowns, and in doing so, show flashes of offensive brilliance. I am already assuming that the defense will sparkle.
What say you?

You guys should win by three TD's at least, but I don't think it will be a very pretty win. I admit I don't know a whole lot about USC but your offense just wasn't based much on passing before was it? It's tough to take players who were recruiting to play one style of football and turn them into a whole other style. I also admit if anyone can do it, it's Spurrier.
Spurrier will get USC towards the top of the SEC east but not this year or next. There is just simply more talent in the SEC as a whole for him to compete with now (he now has to beat at least 3 very good teams in just the east as opposed to really 1 important SEC game each year). More than ever he needs some top caliber athletes and will get his share I'm sure.

Win by 3 TD's 35-14, Offense will struggle in first half but will make up for it by having good field position because the D will dominate the game!

UCF shouldn't score a td til the 4th quarter, maybe usc wins 27-10. I think USC struggles on offense w/ flashes of competence.

Being a Tech fan, I have a lot of respect for George O'Leary. Excellent football coach. Wish he had not left Tech. He has coached big time football games, and has even given Florida State fits a couple of times. His team is experienced, and excited to play. I hope at home we win easily, but George will have his team ready to play. We need to get on em early and often, and not let up. I cannot wait to see our offense finally get out there in front of 80,000.

To clarify what I meant earlier: USC probably won't look good offensively because a lot of their problems will be with themselves... getting used to different style and different timing, etc. Even if USC's offense will be good this season, I can see them getting off to a rough start.
This is contrary to someone like Ark, who is going to look great offensively in our first game even if we totally suck on offense. This is because we're going to be run first anyway and our line will just dominate subpar competition.
