I would LOVE to see Vandy beat Wake and Auburn beat Tech so people will shut up about the ACC. Then of course we would all love to see UGA crush Boise so they can go back home to their blue field and tell people how "real" college football is played.

All the lines except the following seem reasonable to me.....

Wake Forest is favored by too much. I expect Wake to win, but can't see them being favored by almost 10 points. However, on a side note, I'll be pulling for Vandy, as I do for all SEC teams against OOC opponents.

Auburn is favored by too much over GT. IMO the line should be 3 to 4 points in favor of Auburn. I expect Auburn to win by a FG in a tight ball game.

Memphis/Ole Miss is interesting. I consider the game to be a toss-up, but can see the -2.5 points being given to Memphis for home field advantage.

If Georgia doesn't put them in thier place to start, they are gonna be hanging around the top ten the rest of the year with that limp schedule. Anyone know the TV schedule for that game and the Auburn/Tech game?

You have to take into consideration that the game is at Auburn and don't underestimate Auburns defense this year. They have the speed to contain and crush Ball. Unless they get some lucky bounces, I don't see Tech scoring much in that game. I'm bias (duh) but I'd say Auburn beats em up pretty good and its not close by the 4th.

early prediction: AU 27 - GT 13
Could be (and I'll also say I hope so). I'm not underestimating Auburn's defense. I just see it being a lower scoring, tighter game than you indicate (something on the order of 17-14). I think Auburn's offense will come together as the season goes, but this is the first game. With Auburn starting an entirely new backfield (i.e., QB and RBs) and being the first game of the season, I believe points will be few and far between for both teams in this game. And I also believe that GT has a pretty decent team.

GT's defense was just as good and just as fast as Auburn's last year and they return a majority of starters as well. I expect a very low scoring game as Auburn tries to break in their new starters in the backfield against a tough D.

Just as good....more than a little stretch there. Pretty good but not great I'd say. Auburn was tops in scoring D last year and a lot of the scoring that was done on them was in the 4th after Auburn had rolled up a big lead.

Tech has lost some key players in the off-season due to injury, academics and arrest so I wouldn't expect them to be any better this year.
