5-6 looks about right, though they always play Ole Miss close (remember the 7 overtime game?) and Bama close. I'd love for them to beat Pete Carroll
;)

What do you mean always plays Ole Miss and Bama close? Arkansas wins those more often than not. Not saying the Hogs will beat Bama this year, but Ole Miss ... c'mon

That's true Razor. In the HDN era, Arkansas actually owns a winning record against every SEC West team with the exception of LSU (3 wins, 4 losses). Ole Miss scares me b/c it's in Oxford, but, NO OFFENSE REBS, I'm just not very high on this team. There's a lot of ?'s on the offensive side, particularly the offensive line and running backs and while the D's talented (an it most certainly is) there isn't an enormous amount of experience coming back or anything. But Oxford's tough and the Rebs have to kinda be humiliated from the beating they got last year in Fayetteville, so I'm expecting this to be a super tight game no matter the records of the two teams. Even with a loss at Miss., I still can't see us not winning 6. Arkansas ALWAYS upsets somebody. Always. This is not even close to the worse team Nutt's had in Fayetteville so I just can't see Arkansas losing every game they're "supposed to". Somebody will fall. My guess: The Auburn Tigers in Fayetteville. South Carolina's another game that I expect to be very tough, but I'd be shocked if the Hogs lost that one. We'll have to see. Somebody's gonna throw a wrench into the SEC race year. I've heard a lot about South Carolina, but who can blame anybody for that with their offseason hire?, and I've heard a lot about Ole Miss. I think Geaux just posted an 8-3 predicition for the Rebs. I haven't heard jack about Arkansas. But I'll take our situation over any of the previous two. We have to replace a QB, but our entire o-line is back - a damn good one to boot - we've got a well-stocked backfield, good, big, experienced WR's, 9 returning starters on defense and a top-five Def. Coordinator. Our schedule is absolutely brutal though and the Rebs' is pretty easy for an SEC team, so I dunno. I just wouldn't chalk the University of Arkansas up as an automatic W if my name wasn't USC (So. Cal) or LSU.

I'll say 7-4

SWMSU - W
Vandy - W
Southern Cal - L
Bama - w/L
ULM - W
Auburn - w/L
UGA - L
USC - W
Ole Miss - W
Moo-U - W
LSU - L

On Bama and Auburn, I think we'll win one of those games (not sure which.) I just expect an upset.

The game against Ole Miss last year wasn't that tight! ;)
We won't lose to the Rebs or the dogs. 6-5....
I say losses at USCal, LSU, UGA, Bama.....goin out on a limb with an upset loss at home to Vandy! As Lupo always says: I'm a pessimist. :(

I say 8-3, it's funny how the Tennesse, Alabama and South Carolina fans are all talking about the HOGS going 5-6 or 6-5, looking at the games played, I say Arkansas looks leaps and strides better than any of the other SEC teams this year. We will lead the SEC in rushing this year, and we be in the middle as far as Passing, man I can't wait till we get Mitch and the 2 frosh HB's together, not to mention Monk and Hillis. WHO PIG SEWE BABY! I am getting really excited about our football teams future!

You're getting a little too excited. Barring a horrible season by Rojo, you're going to have to wait at least two more seasons (counting this one) to see Mustain. But boy, Felix Jones and Darren McFadden looked awesome. Can you say Talley & Cobbs II?

Based on how you did against a lowly I-AA team?? Dont worry Arkansas fans, I know his thoughts dont represent the majority of your fanbase. ;)

Not to promote some of the overly optimistic views of some hog fans on this thread....BUT....we did win at Fayetteville in a landslide last year with a less experienced team (I know Croyle was out but that balances with our total team of inexperience) and we beat ya'll in Alabama in 2003 in the overtime game. So maybe ya'll can change your streak against us this year, but keep in mind what that streak is.....

0-5 on the road
5-1 at home...probably a loss to Auburn

The agreement that Ole Miss has with USCal is that they will leave 11 players alive so that Ole Miss doesn't have to give up a home game against the piggies.

That was just Matt Jones beating us, not the team. :D hehe

Seriously though, that boy could run like a mad man. I'd have to say out of all the teams we face this year, he's the one player that I'm glad graduated because he scared the crap out of me everytime I saw him start to run.

What??!! Are you freakin serious?? So let me get this straight:

After beating a lowly I-AA team you claim that Arkansas is easily the best team in the SEC. Then you get on here and say that your assumptions will either be confirmed or rejected by how you do against Vandy(no offense Vandy fans). Slow down there buddy. Why dont you wait until you play a team that is ranked in the top 50 in the country before claiming superiority over the best college football conference in the world. Or better yet, how about you wait until you find out whether or not your QB is worth anything at all.

I said it before, and I will say it again, we are not better than LSU, and I feel we are neck and neck with Auburn and Bama, the way these teams follow LSU is going to depend on who beats who out of these games. Which of course I think we will win, but both the games will be CLOSE.
