DandyDon reports: The most interesting in-state recruit who has not committed to a school yet is Chaz Washington (DT, 6’4”, 310) from Destrehan. I receive several emails each week asking me what the latest status is on this top defensive lineman in the state. Washington attended the last Summer camp at LSU and I caught up with him the day after the camp ended. Washington told me that he had a great camp and was very impressed with Coach Dunbar and Coach Miles. I asked if he was offered a scholarship and he said yes. I asked if he committed and he said no that he and his family were going to talk and pray about it and make a decision later. To the best of my knowledge, the only remaining non-committed in-state players who have been offered by the coaching staff are: Ricky Dixon (ATH, 6’3”, 210) from East ST John who is down to LSU and Florida; Jai Eugene (6’1”, 175) from Destrehan who is considering LSU, Florida and Miami; Jared Mitchell (6’1”, 190, QB/ATH) who is considering pro baseball and LSU; Chris Mitchell (WR, 6’2”, 195) from John Ehret who is considering LSU, Ole Miss, Miami, Tennessee, Auburn and Florida. Dan Kreamer, Wes Tunufi Sauvao, Devarin Gerald, Tyler Unsworth and Larry Brewer are players that LSU has high interest in but have not been offered.
