Clemson issued a release Friday afternoon concerning two secondary violations by the athletics department. Following is that release.
It is our policy to release Clemson's NCAA secondary rules violations to the media twice a
year. The names of the sports, coaches and student-athletes involved have been redacted.
The period below covers January 1 through July 1, 2005. Clemson had two rules violations that
are deemed secondary in nature during this time.
Date of Violation NCAA Bylaw Violation
3/14/2005 16.8.1.2.1 Team left before the permissible timeframe for traveling to
an away-from-home contest.
Corrective Measure: Rules education with coaching staff.
6/7/2005 13.1.1.3.1
& 14.5.2.2.10 Student-athletes did not receive written notification of
hearing opportunities related to requests to transfer
Corrective Measure: Letter issued to staff member. Process revised to include
Written notification to student-athletes.
