I just sent the hubby to Sonic to get a large coke and some ice cream for me and my stepson! I have to go back to work a week from today...until then, I am staying indoors as much as possible!

The weather man said today is going to be the hottest day of the year in Columbia. It's about 97 out with a heat index of like 110! It's hot as hell, but luckily I have the cool AC and my pool.

It's so hot here Clemson fans are babbling incoherently... Oh... wait that's the way they're taught.

It's so hot that Hurricanes evaporate before they get here...

It's so hot that open flames are taking swimming lessons...

It's so hot that Hawaiian Tropic has started manufacturing sunscreen for trees...

My back yard is hella shaded so mine feels pretty good. It's a blessing and a curse because it's nice to have the shade, but if the wind blows all sorts of leaves and debris go flying into the pool. I have to clean it out all the time.

It's so hot here that...
the birds are using potholders to pull worms out of the ground.
the potatoes cook underground, and all I had to do to have lunch was to pull one out and add butter, salt and pepper.
farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying hard-boiled eggs.
the cows are giving evaporated milk.
the trees are whistling for the dogs.
I experienced condensation on my butt from the hot water in the toilet bowl.
I just realized that asphalt has a liquid state. :D

Colonel, you be careful. I worry about you. 50-60 years ago, you could have handled the heat wave with no problem. My advice, type real slow and don't do anything that requires more exertion that say...a bingo game. ;)

Well, we set a record here in Raleigh today when the temp. hit 100. With the heat index it felt like it was around 110. I hate the summer. Its too damn hot for my Irish blood.

And in my best Jean Luc-Picard voice: "ENGAGE!!!!!"

Hopefully it will cool down in a few hours and the girls can come home from the Hotel, kinda convenient having one less than a mile away. The outside heat extremes I can deal with, but sitting here inside the house waiting on the @#$% repair guy for hours the last several days has bit the big one. Guess what 95 degree air being blown around by a powerful fan feels like? 95 degrees.

I don't know what y'all are talking about. I golfed this weekend up here and it was 105 out.

Come talk to me in 4-5 months when it's 50something degrees out down there and we have over a foot of snow on the ground...then we'll see who's complaining.

I can deal with the cold and snow, its the heat that bothers me. You can always put or more clothes, but theres only so much you can take off before you get arrested.

This is true! LMAO! :D

I am a cold weather girl..I don't mind the snow and ice..just so that I don't have to DRIVE in it! Like this past winter here in Raleigh..when the whole Triangle area came to a stand still because of an inch of snow that froze on the roads..yeah, I can do without all of that. ;)

I'll tell you what. It was damned hot in Columbus, GA this weekend. I was there helping a buddy move from Fort Benning to Jackson, MS. It was 100 degrees, I think, on Saturday and 108 Heat Index someone said. Not much better here in Clinton today either. I'll be glad for September for some cool weather, football and dove season.

Yes, you are right. It was boiling here this weekend. I live about 45 miles north of Columbus. It is quite muggy too!

If I had to trade living in Michigan to get those types of temperatures, I ... well, I wouldn't. No way I'd wanna live up there.
