I love preseason picks that have Carolina going 5-6. Because they are always proven to be way off for most teams :D

I predicted a lot of the same things as CFN. The biggest one being LSU's only loss coming to Alabama.

CFN always manages to whet my appetite for college football, and for that I'm very much grateful.
but on a side note, the LSU game scares me (as a Vol fan) than the UF game. Not only does LSU play in a louder (and drunker) stadium, but simply put...LSU's offense is insane! Good lord theyre going to be fast! In my eyes, the game comes down to whoever wins the McGill/Niswanger-Mahelona battle...if big Jesse can pressure RusselL or that Perriloux kid (I love how he understands football's unwritten rite of passage, what a modest kid-never running his mouth to the media or anything. wow! what a team player this kid will blossom to be, so glad hes not just in it for the shoe contracts!) and get them out of the pocket and on their feet...then it could be a long day for Tigers fans. If not...then LSU will put on an aerial circus.

Second that. Mahelona and Vol line will be key in this game. Expect to see Chavis throwing alot of blitzs to the LSU offense. If we can't get penatration in the backfield against the pass AND the run, it'll be game over.
With one the best Offensive lines going up against one of the best Defensive lines in the SEC (if not the nation), Expect this game to be a nail-bitter.

IIf Tennessee doesn't get pressure on Russell, then this game is over because LSU has the fastest receivers in the nation and Tennessee's secondary isn't to write home about. The Vol LBs are going to be busy keeping Addai controlled on passes out of the backfield and Broussard's running too.

You and many other SC fans will then be crying in your beer this Fall, for 5 wins is on the borderline of generosity. Wake up, this will be a full blown rebuilding year which will set the table for marked improvement next season. Both UT & UGA will be rebuilding next year and that alone is enough to like your prospects.

I agree, Cianne. If our QB has enough time to let his WRs run free, it will be bombs away. Also, the Vol defense must stop a powerful running game, plus TEs and Backs out of the backfield in passing situations. On the other hand, LSU's defense will have its hands full stopping Riggs and company and the good passing of Ainge. No doubt, this game has nail-biter implications!

I hate saying this, but I think UT will beat LSU this year, even in Baton Rouge. Why? Because the Vols NEVER do what they are supposed to do (Beating the Canes in '03 @ Miami, scraping by KY and Vandy then thumping the Aggies, beating my Dawgs in Athens, etc). There's just somthing about them.
Of course, I use the same logic to hope that Georgia can eek out a win in Knoxville this year - hey, don't say it can't happen.

DJ,
Nice picture of Greg Blue laying that guy out. Too bad that was the only highlight. Maybe this year will go better b/t the hedges.

Yeah, back when I had money to gamble, I would never play UT when they were the favorite. They were just too unpredictable. They might beat a team like UK by 30 or they might win by 3.
They focus much better as a underdog which they will be in Baton Rouge and maybe in Gainesville. I say that they will win one of the two, but I think that the more likely win would be at UF. Playing back-to-back weeks against great competition in brutal heat will probably prove to be too much. LSU, being the second game and having a week off before us, should benefit.

I believe you are mistaken. That hit by Blue was back in 2003 when we waxed the Tigers/War Eagles/Plainsmen by a score of 26-7.
