DandyDon reports...
Coach Les Miles and his staff will be hosting the final football camp of the Summer on July 24-27. Campers from all over the South and other parts will start arriving at LSU Sunday afternoon. I expect LSU to pick up a few commitments at the camp, but I thought the same thing last Summer and it didn't happen. I have been told that between 250-300 players will be attending the camp including about 40 division 1-A prospects. I do not know how many of the prospects are the caliber of players that LSU is recruiting. It is my guess that there will probably be 10-12 players at the camp who have not already been offered by LSU that will be offered by coach Miles. I have been told that the LSU coaching staff has already offered between 150-180 prospects and we all know that LSU can only sign a small percentage of the players who have been offered. The NCAA's limit to sign each year is 25 and after this camp is over and before the start of Fall practice the LSU coaching coordinator and coaches will start making decisions on who will be invited to take official visits to LSU. The NCAA allows each 1-A school to invite 55 players to take official visits, and in most cases schools do not invite anymore than 40-45 players for official visits each year.
