A news conference will be held this afternoon at about 3:30 edt where UGA AD Damon Evans will announce his resignation. Seems he's had affairs with several ladies in his charge....

this is the first year i've ever really participated on an SEC website like this, so maybe i've just missed some of the less publicized stories in years past. but this just seems like an absurdly brutal offseason for the SEC. so many of our schools have had some seriously embarrassing conduct by their players and/or their administration.

That's what I'm saying Omaha...I'm wondering if maybe it's always been this "busy" and I've just missed all the negative news because I've lived so far away.

I hope that's it anyway....

No, you haven't missed things before.

This is the worst offseason we have had in quite some time.

I just hope the season gets here quickly.

Just got back to a PC and it appears that this was a bunch of hooey. The rumor broke late Monday and by today a prominent booster told me what I've shared here.

The summer is the silly season and rumors tend to fly around with no regard for the people they smear. That is a shame that the AD's name is getting thrown around with sexual-harrasement charges without some semblance of proof.

I totally agree OrangeCrush. Whoever started this is spreading very damaging libel around about more then likely a very innocent man.

Ok folks, this is a big bunch of dung. I will not bore you with the details but suffice it to say that it is very apparent that somebody intends for UGA to get some very ugly press so as to hurt somebody else.

While I'm relieved I am at the same time very upset that a lot of good and decent people have been drawn into a what appears to be a protracted and escalating campaign of ugliness.

My most humble apologies to all.

The truthfulness of the rumor of a sex scandal still remains to be seen. A press conference where our AD was to resign at 3:30 was not true.
