Alright UK fans,

What are your thoughts regarding UK chances vs. Louisville? I think the odds are pretty much piss-poor for the Cats. Maybe there's a 1 in 10 shot at a Cat victory......as much as I hate to admit. Here's hoping that Joker puts together an unstoppable offense, because that's our best chance, IMO.

Regardless, I'll be excited for the season to start, and am curious to see if there's any improvement in this team.

I really like Joker. I met him before and he is a very good coach. Whether he is a good Offensive coordinator I don't know. I hope he works out well for you guys though. I would love to see you shock the world and beat Louiville.

I think 1 in 10 is being very generous on this one.

I thought 1 in 10 three years ago was generous when I witnessed UK defeat Louisville 22-17 @ Louisville. I'm by no means predicting an upset, but it IS a rivalry game, and anything can happen. Oddly enough, UK held Louisville to their lowest point total (28) last year. We'll definitely need that kind of defense this year.
Besides, all we UK fans have are our expectations.....let me pretend there's a chance.... :o

I'd say anyone has a chance of beating Louisville...they lost their top playmaking threats from last year, including starters at QB, both RBs, their top LB as well as their best WR. Sure, UK's talent was nowhere near last year's Louisville team but the fact that they've lost as much talent as Georgia (albeit a different level of talent) has to give the Cats hope....if not a W.

Good luck UK...I for one will be pulling for you. :D

Brian Brohm is just as good as Lefors at QB which was seen by the fact that he was better than Lefors many times when he was put into games, and Michael Bush, who was just as good if not better than Eric Shelton, returns at RB. They have three senior WRs that are all tall and fast along with three seniors and two juniors on the OL. This is going to be an offense that steam rolls just like last year.

The only weak part would be their defense and it's not at the LB position. It's in the secondary and on the DL which is why you saw Memphis exploit them with Wimprine throwing for umpteen million yards as well as Boise State doing the same.

If Kentucky can keep the pressure on Brohm somehow and watch out for the draws and screens to Bush, they may can keep it close and may somehow win but it's a longshot.

These two teams are too far north for me to be very interested.

I'm not saying Louisville isn't capable of reloading...I'm saying they had seven guys picked in the draft this year so they've lose as much leadership and talent as Georgia, respective of conference strength. These new starters may be as good as those that left but with UGA circa 2005, it's going to take them time to gel. That was what I did a very poor job of saying earlier :D

I kinda got what you were saying and I was kinda giving the opposite side of the coin too :D Brohm is already looked at as a leader in the locker room because he played in the big games and pressure situations. Petrino did a good job of looking to the future and making sure he didn't just play mop up duty like *cough*Cutcliffe with Spurlock*cough* and didn't do it crazy erratically like Richt did with Shockley.
