I like the unit rankings.

Though it's free, they could do a little bit better freshening it up. Since they run the same basic stuff over the offseason, when they pull the trigger on the final predictions, it wouldn't be hard at all to update all of the offseason happenings.

Some of the unit rankings raised my eyebrows, especially the ST's....

Yea, STs were a bit surprising. Auburn and LSU are the obvious #1 and #2 (position could be flip flopped) due to returning both K and P and having great returnmen in Smith and Green. After that I don't get it. Ole Miss is #5 despite losing an All-American kicker and an All-SEC punter. Who knows.

They need a new editor...

Here is a cut and paste from the Auburn preview from CFN.

"The line will be fine with All-America talent at the tackles"

The only postion that will have a complete new starter is OG. Danny Lindsey will be replaced with Duckworth a Jr. Ross started some games at center last year and will start this year.

Then they rate our O-line 7th best in the SEC.

Urban Meyer is the best coach in the SEC?

He hasn't even coached a damn SEC game for crying out loud. All he has done is point and stare. The Urban Meyer hype machine continues.....

You are right. This is getting ridiculous. The guy is already better than Spurrier, Fulmer, Nutt, Richt, and Tubbs without having won a game in this league. If you want to be known as an excellent coach, put in a gimmicky offense since that seems to be what impresses the media the most.

No one is working harder though...., But anyways, you're exactly right, this is becoming a circus with Meyer, everyone is really ready to annoit him Jesus Christ. I'm sorry, but Defense wins championships, and you can't call him a better coach then Fulmer, Tubbs, Houston Nutt, and Richt, they may be successful in the future at Florida but he is not the best coach in the SEC.....

I agree 100 percent man. While I think Meyer is an excellent coach and in for a ton of success at Florida, CFN is just giving him way too much respect. The SEC is full of great coaches, so to call him the best if off base imo. Fulmer is a great coach as witnessed by his tremedous success and the fact that he's got the longest tenure of any SEC coach. Tubberville is a great coach. Nutt is a great coach. Mark Richt has had awesome success at UGA and he's obviously a great coach. Spurrier, I know he hasn't been here (SEC) in while but c'mon, he's Steve Freakin Spurrier. He is an SEC legend. I liked the preview and still think cfn does a pretty good job, but that wasn't right to call him the best coach in the conference when his all-time SEC record is 0-0 w/ no championships, etc... But, I do think he'll have a lot of success.

Yeah, my favorite coach in the SEC is Nutt, you could give him high school sophmores and he could squeak out 4-5 wins I think. He does so much with so little, it's amazing. Richt has had alot of talent and he's still young, so I won't say he's an all-time great in the SEC, but he's on the path for sure (and 4 years in the SEC is more than what Urban has), and Fulmer has a NC and is competing for 10-11 wins every year, you can't call Meyer the best, even if he wins a NC or the SEC this year, you still can't call him the best b/c it's 1 year!!! Fulmer has been doing this for years. It's too much too soon, and it's insulting to the other teams & their coaches for this nonsense, but then that's CFN, and they are stupid....

I have a problem with a pre-season prediction prediciting a three-way tie for first place in the SEC East. Please, pick a winner and stand by it. Tennessee ranks as the second best offense and the second best defense, but they are not the clear cut best team in the East? Also, how can you leave the LSU/Tennessee match-up off of the top 5 games in the SEC. This is possibly the game of the year in the SEC. Finally, they do not give OL Rob Smith enough respect. This guy is a player that any team wants on their team. He has the nasty disposition on the field and is a class act off the field. Most Vol fans wonder if a he will turn pro after this season, as he has the talent and the work ethic to be a good pro lineman.

Rant off

For real, the UT-LSU game quite possibly may the game of the year in the SEC. Regardless, it's no doubt a top 5.
