Tiger Stadium construction

I was looking at the photos on http://lsusports.net of the constrcution underway on Tiger Stadium and I don't think they'll be ready for the first home game. :( From what I have heard (and seen), they are behind schedule but the contractor says that they will be ready. I sure hope so, or there will be a lot of ticked off West upper-season ticket holders!

LSU alumni band may not have 2005 Tiger Stadium seats

> The LSU alumni band might be elbowed out of Tiger Stadium the night it performs if renovations to the West Upper Deck continue to lag, an Athletics Department spokesman said.
As many as 1,500 of about 8,500 seats at the stadium's crest may be unfinished by the Sept. 10 contest against Arizona State University, said Herb Vincent, the LSU spokesman. Construction started in November and was expected to be complete by the first home game Sept. 3.

The seats typically sold to the alumni group -- a few hundred former Tiger Band members who march on the field once a year -- might be commandeered for ticket holders whose seats aren't finished, Vincent said.

An Alumni Association letter sent to band members makes it sound like a certainty.

And while plan B -- watching the game on a large screen at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center -- offers air conditioning and seats made "to fit the human butt," horn player Lou Fought, 62, said he's none too happy with the change.
