Does La. still have those drive-thru daiquiri shops down there? I used to live in Lafayette in 96 and 97 and they had a few of them there. The loophole with those was they put a piece of tape over the straw so it was a closed container :p What a state. I've never been to a state that promoted drinking more than La. I used to go to "The Strip" in Lafayette. And on Wed. nights some of the bars had $5 admissions with coin pitchers of your choice all night. Man I miss that place. :D

Yep... drive-thru daiquiri shops all over the place and liquor stores on every 2nd corner. Man... to have a beer or liquor distributorship in a Louisiana town would make you financially stable for life!
Ha-Ha-Ha

I still can't believe that concept is legal ANYWHERE in the U.S. with all the DWI accidents/deaths all over the place nowadays. I mean, drive-thru liquor stores are bad enough... but at least they're required to bag it up for you in a hope that you're not just about to crack it open in the car. But daiquiris?? Like anyone's getting that just to wait until later. :p

There used to be one out on Lakeland Drive in Jackson too, but I don't think its there anymore.

Nope, it got turned into the Crawfish Barn, then the Crawfish Hut, then got bulldozed.

There used to be one in Magee, too. Right next to the Ford dealership.

Wow, I can't believe they still have them either.
Though I will say a frozen daiquiri is the perfect drink especially during these hot summer months! Man has it been hot lately..I'm ready for fall

My sister and her family live in Hattiesburg, so I go down that way fairly often. I know the building's still there, but I'm not sure if they're still open for business. We stopped there many a time on the way to/from the coast in high school. They were well known for not checking ID.
