I'd have to say Clemson or Florida. I can't decide between those two... On the one hand you have SOS's first game against our biggest rival, the game is huge for in-state recruiting. On the other hand you have SOS's first game against his former team. I guess I would have to give the edge to Florida though because I've been to a ton of USC v. Clemson games, but I've only been to a Florida game once.

South Carolina in FAYETTEVILLE!!!!!!!!
to see the ole ball coach, and finally getting to play SC in a stadium that doesnt look as if it about to fall to pieces is pretty exciting.

That and everone else on the schedule, I have already seen or don't care about (Vanderbilt).

Why do you say that? There are several polls that have Ga. Tech in the Top 25. Will you feel the same way if Georgia doesn't spank Boise St.?

I'm waiting to see how Cox performs and then our unknown rb's.

UGA and it is not even close. This is not to discount USC and the visored one return to Knoxville. Spurrier back to Neyland makes for a nice headline and should provide much comic relief the week preceeding that game. As far as the dawgs are concerned, there is still a matter of payback for the 2003 game.

Ga Tech is ranked high off an enigmatic QB and a vaunted defense which isn't much different than Auburn who is starting an unproven QB with a vaunted defense.

The only parallel I see in Georgia-Boise State is that Georgia is also starting an unproven QB with a big defense, but all of Georgia's RBs are back while Auburn has to go with Tre Smith.

I'm also waiting to see how Cox and your RBs go but I don't think Georgia Tech is going to be the determining factor for my impression or any others unless Auburn beats GT handedly. Right now I think Auburn is a very solid team with a great defense and a questionable offense. It's going to take more than one game to change that.

You both have my sympathy, of course, and my prayers for the health of your loved ones; however, that sympathy will not spill over onto the playing field. Look for LSU to lay a whipping on both Ole Miss and Alabama in their own stadiums.

I can relate with you Dave. Everyone in the SEC thinks both of our teams lost to much talent to compete for the SEC Championship. However, both of us feel like our teams are going to be better than everyone thinks. While you may feel the same was as most of the SEC about Georgia's chances, I think Auburn is going to be pretty good. I think LSU will be too much for Auburn to handle this year so I think Auburn finishes at 9-2.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but GT could be very tough this year. They will have one of the best running games around and a VERY good defense. ESPN has predicted them as the possible sleeper in the ACC this year. Reggie Ball has been much improved in the spring from what I have been told, and with Chan Gailey's job on the line, I do not think he will hesitate to pull Ball if he does not perform early on. One should also keep in mind that GT historically plays tough opponents first game of the year, and normally they play them very well. They beat Auburn 16-3 I believe in the first game in very recent history.

I don't think everyone in the SEC is saying UGA and Auburn are not going to be good, they are simply pointing out all the question marks. I certainly would not be planning a trip to Atlanta yet if I were a fan of either team. No different than being a Carolina fan at this point. ;) You simply cannot lose THAT much offensive talent if your Auburn and be the same offense. I'm sorry, I don't see it for a minute. Look where those 2 RB's went in the draft!! I am not saying they won't be good, but certainly not the same. If your UGA, you lost of one the best QB's in SEC history, and replace him with a guy who at times throws as many interceptions as completions. You guys are thin at MLB, and you cannot run the ball the entire game in the SEC anymore and win. Ask us Carolina fans about that, too!! This is going to be a fun, exciting season in the SEC for sure. :)

You are absolutely correct, most Dawgs DO consider last year's win a FLUKE. UGA will return to the erector set beside the moonshine polluted river this October to drain whatever "power" that has been restored to that ugly abomination of the 20th letter of the alphabet and which is prominently displayed in a putrid and offensive color in the middle of the playing surface.... ;)

I will now take leave for a few hours as I enjoy CSS's Classic Replay of the famous meeting in Obnoxiousville between our two teams back in 2001. You remember....

""10 Seconds, We're on their 6. Michael Johnson turned around asked the bench something. And now, Greene makes him lineup on the right in the slot, we have 3 receivers. Tennessee playing what amounts to a 4-4, Fake, and there's somebody Touchdown! My God a Touchdown! We threw it to Haynes. We just stuffed them with five seconds left! My God almighty, did you see what he did! David Greene just straightened up and we snuck the fullback over! Haynes is keeping the ball! Haynes is come running all the way across to the bench. We just dumped it over 26-24. We just stepped on their face with a hobnailed boot and broke their nose. We just crushed their faces!"

Wow, I really do not like you right now. Ok, we can say that last year's fluke victory by the Vols in Athens over your pups is payback for the 2003 game. We still owe you for 2002 and 2001. Unless the Vols put a 40 point victory over you this year(not going to happen), it is going to take victories in 2005 and 2006 to get things even. I expect the Vols to take care of business this year, but I'll wait to proclaim the 2006 ballgame a Vols win.

You don't like me Now??!!?? I'm CRUSHED!!!! (The Colonel cannot constrain his open mouthed howls of laughter)

Ahem.....settle down OC...(rofl, this IS a target rich environment)

A Fluke was the '03 game, for such a blowout wasn't envisioned by any of the greats like Miss Cleo, Kreskin, or even Jean Dixon. ;) :D Yes, I was very embittered by UGA's performance last year but the game ended with UT as the victor.

I'd say right now today that UT Should be the East fave and do so without any reservation whatsoever. This year's Vols more remind me of the great and double tough UT teams that I've watched for many years. The O should go with Riggs providing ample punch behind a typically good OL and with timely use of the forward pass to an unappreciated group of WR's. Complimented by what should be the best D since '01, I do favor the Vols to represent in the ATL.

Though I will not conceed anything prior to game week, my Dawgs will be an underdog coming in as well they should be for a meeting with what I expect to be no worse than a once beaten bunch of Vols.

See, I'm not unreasonable at all....but I do enjoy messing with folks.

No, the dawgs have not endured enough. You will have to understand that I am greedy and need as many victories over the dawgs as the Vols can get.

And it is not like I have Col. on my "hope he breaks his leg" list. The 2001 game was very brutal if you are a Vol fan. I saw that one in person and to go from top of the world to down in the gutter in the time it took Greene and team to drive that final drive is cruel and unusual punishment. It got ugly after the game as well. Unfortunalty, to many low-class Vol fans decided to show their arse after that game. My luck turned worse after the game as I found myself in the middle of a soon to be fight leaving the stadium. A few of us tried to calm things down and what we got for our efforts was being called UGA lovers and wondered if we were going to get into a fight with Vol fans. Luckily, the Cops were close and shut down the BS really quick. A good friend of mine, who is a UGA alum, had his back windshield broken by a rock. I would have won a Vol board for both halves if Georgia had not scored on the last drive of the game. It was just one of the worst days to be a Vol fan. Add to it the bitch-slap the 2003 game was and you know why Vol fans still want some payback.

Like I said in my first post, it is Georgia and it's not even close.
