Which of your team's incoming freshman do you expect to make the biggest immediate impact. I am talking about an impact like Ko Simpson made his freshman year at USC.
Please keep it to only 1 player. I don't want to hear about half of your class.

For Georgia, I am going to have to go with WR Mohamed Massaquoi. It is no secret that Richt is looking for WRs to step up. All reports that we have been getting from veteran players, coaches, and fellow freshman have said that Mohamed is the best looking freshman we have.

SEC: Ryan Perrilloux will probably make the most impact on a team. If he doesn't readshirt (or has he already  ) he will be an imediate factor. Especially if Russell gets injured.
Vols: If Riggs gets injured(worst thing that could possibly happen to UT) There is no body in the depth chart with any experience at Tailback. Either SR David Yancey steps up, or Freshmen Arian Foster and/or LaMarcus Cooker will have to fill in the very big shoes of Riggs.

I think for Arkansas, Darren McFaddan. He's gonna be hard to catch with 4.3 40' speed.

For SC I'd have to say it will probably be O.J. Murdock. He's listed at 6'0" 178lbs., runs a 4.39 40 and has a vertical leap of 31 inches. He was ranked the 10th best receiver in the country in highschool. In Spurrier's offense he should be able to put up some big numbers.

For Ole Miss, oddly enough, I think it's gonna be Freshman Kicker Rob Park out of Briarcrest in Memphis. After losing Jonathan Nichols, who was one of the leading scorers in the SEC over the past few years and won the Groza Award last year, we're in serious need of some kicking talent. Park's got some big shoes to fill and is expected to rise to the task (man, I hope so anyway).

I think TE Jonathan Hannah can come in right away and make a huge impact in the red-zone for the cocks. He's a huge target with soft hands. His future looks bright.

While I agree with Cocky to a point I would say Mike Davis will be our impact Freshman this year. We are thin at RB and he is a good one.

Strange as it may sound after reading most of your opinions on Auburn and reading the college football pundits.
I doubt Auburn has a freshman that gets enough playing time to make an impact. I can't think of anyone less then a soph. that will get sign. playing time.
But if I'm forced to pick one Tommy Trott at TE would be one of my picks.....

Thats a good point. We may have more need for backs than we will for receivers so Davis could have a bigger impact.

Demonte Bolden for UT. Some recruiting services had him as the top ranked defensive tackle coming out of high school. After a year tackling academics at a military school, the word is that he looks like an upper-classman instead of a freshman.

For Bama I would have to agree with Roy Upchurch. I also think that Lorenzo Washing (DL) will make a impact this year if he gets to play.

Ryan Perrilloux for LSU.
He wants to play as a freshman and not redshirt.
This morning's paper quoted Jimbo Fisher as saying that in August, the QB situation would be wide open and give Perrilloux his shot. Both JaMarcus Russell and Matt Flynn had great showings in the spring, so Perrilloux will have to really make an impression in August to get the starting job. If they can't persuade him to redshirt, I suspect he will see playing time behind JaMarcus, at least in the beginning. Some have even suggested that it would be possible for him to come into the game in a RB slot with Russell at QB, posing a real threat to the defense because Perrilloux can run very well, and, of course, he is a consummate passer.

Sounds like that failure project they tried at Kentucky with the Battleship and that other guy :D

You can count on Washington playing.

Geaux, I imagine that defenses would blitz that formation pretty heavily. Backup quarterbacks are generally not the best at picking up blitzing linebackers. I would think that this would be especially true of a quarterback fresh out of high-school. If you guys plan on using that alignment, then I hope for your sake that you have a good plan B.

I agree, any DC worth his salt would bring the house if LSU came out in that formation.

Jimmy Johns is an interesting pick.
He is a true freshman and a QB to boot.
Two years from now he will be neither.

Demps at LB, but Nelson and Atkins have a great shot if either can come in and solidify that other CB spot.

Let me back up BeeDee in this way, Park will make the biggest impact one way or the other. If he fizzles, we are in deep doo-doo, if he steps up we should be okay. Last year, we beat USCar and Vandy by 3, lost to UTK by 4, and lost to LSU by 3.
I can't tell you how many times I have seen a field goal lift the bar just high enough that a team with ample time left in the game is unable to perform.
Yes, I agree with Brother BeeDee that Park is the man this year.
As a side note, Michael Oher (6'4" 330lb) and Lance Lee (6'5" 300lb) might be a bit less on the spot, but if they get playing time and step up, the OL might buy Spurlock the time he needs to make the offense click past 19 points per game.

Super G....
Heck, if I saw this on the game of the week, I would get up from my Barcalounger, put down my beer, and call the DC myself.
Come to think of it, I believe my wife would be willing to make the call.

From all the reports I've read, I would have to disagree with you there (regarding him still being a QB). He's got an arm like Croyle's, size like a LB, and speed like a WR. Could be quite deadly from the QB position. Croyle said he's impressed him.
As far as which freshman makes the biggest impact for Bama this year, I think it will be RB Glenn Coffee. He's already got the size and strength of the college back and I think he's the most physically ready new back that can take the punishment of the SEC.
