Today "The State" newspaper reported that Spurrier told Grayson Mullins and five other football players that the university was not going to renew their scholarships. The other five names weren't given.

Does anyone have information on who the other five were?

A friend gave me two he thought night be included.

Winchel and a kid named Usher. I have no idea if these are correct or not.


CTT did pretty much the same thing when taking over for Tot. Tot, late in the game use to offer anybody just to get numbers. I think even the number of scholaships in question was even about the same.

Trent Usher is a CB from Central High School. Not sure who Winchel is. But will look it up. Thanks for the info though!

Just in case you were wondering Winchell is an offensive lineman. And so far if all three are correct they are all white. Reverse racisim!

Mullins and Usher were in my opinion two overhyped in state players that Holtz probably took at the last moment to sway the in-state recruiting battle with Clemson. Mullins played on an Irmo team that was good mostly because of defense, but got the praise cause he was QB. Usher was on the State Championship team that beat my Panthers, but that team was LOADED with talent. He was hyped also because he was QB for that team.

I agree totally. But I heard that Trent was actually doing pretty good. And that Central team was very good.
