Well, the main thread was closed so I will start my own.
Let me start off by saying that I know rules are rules. However, the infraction involving the student host driving a recruit outside the 30 mile radius is a crock of sh*t to me. I don't see how that in any way gives USC an advantage in recruiting. The infraction dealing with the governor and the infraction dealing with the media member being present seem kind of dull to me as well. Unfortunately, rules are rules.
I can only imagine how it feels to go through this kind of thing. The closest I have come to that feeling was that basketball class scandal we went through a few years ago. However, that was basketball and not football.
In any event, I hope everything will turn out ok for you guys. I don't like to see this happen to any SEC school. I also don't want you guys to be giving excuses when we whoop up on y'all these next few years. ;)

I can tell you Carolina fans are not proud right now, and I have a feeling they will let their feelings be known, too. We are fair however, and will take our punishment.

I am glad we have support from others. The NCAA while good (keeping schools in line) makes me sick at times. They make so much money from these athletes that I think the administration should take the punishment, not the players. Since most of the time the players aren't at fault anyways. Maybe we should start deducting pay. Hit their wallets and maybe this won't happen as often.

After seeing Holtz and Spurrier talk on the news a few minutes ago, I feel MUCH better. Spurrier kind of laughed and said it was no big deal, and that we have some players on scholarship that would not be missed by South Carolina. Holtz also spoke briefly. :)

Could you say what else transpired. I missed it and would love to hear it.

The video is on wistv.com. It was brought up that no money switched hands, there were no recruiting violations, nothing like that. Once again, Spurrier said, with his visor turned backwards, that is should be no big deal and hopefully the NCAA would take what he offered. :)

basically we "tutored" a kid who already was accepted to usc before he actually enrolled and that was considered a major violation. we helped a kid with his education and got slapped. we did not pay him or give him any other incentives. i will take that MAJOR VIOLATION anyday. We sent out a summer camp flier with to much info. that flier is now legal. big deal. all this crap about derek watson and all they get is that we were his chauffer? big deal...we talked to a guy with a cameraman present..big deal..A few summer workouts were observed by pat moorer? i am cringing..the biggest thing was that associate ad fixing his paperwork to cover himself. He was a moron. After three years they uncover no gambling, no paying of players, nothing of eyebrow raising caliber...the loic tag is a joke...I think this was 80 pages of crap low level stuff. Some violations they consider major, we consider minor. How can that be. If it is arguable than it is a crap violation. We messed up, no doubt. I am tired of seeing our fans on here pouting and saying "we will take what we deserve". What i expected after three years was much more than this. This is nothing like Alabama. Those guys cheated while on freaking probation..lets move on
