Oklahoma is looking set on offense. But their loosing 7 starters on defence. I think they could posibly get upset big either Texas or Texas Tech.

Texas Tech isn't looking too shaby, and could put up a fight to any team in the big XII

But Texas is returning 15 starters from last year. With Vince Young and the longhorn defence, i think Texas is going to win the BIG XII.

I would love to see Nebraska make a big splash this year but it probably won't happen. Texas finally gets it done this year.

I went with A&M, Reggie McNeal can Run and pass the ball. Vince Young cannot throw the ball, you gotta throw it to be able to beat Oklahoma. Plus, I'm calling an upset, I'm picking Texas Tech to beat Texas this year, although I do think this is the year Mack Brown beats Bob Stoops, look out for a scrappy Nebraska team too....

Well, I finally got bored enough to weigh in on this one.
Texas...I don't think that Oklahoma has enough to stop them this year.

But, come on...we are talking about a conference in which someone thinks that Texas Tech actually has an outside chance to win. I am pretty sure that Ole Miss and Arkansas would beat them...I think Vandy, South Carolina, and MSU could.

Don't underestimate Texas Tech. They had the #1 passing offense per game in the NCAA for 2004. If they keep everything togethe, they might be the BIG XII champ.

I think they're better than A&M anyway. Especially with A&M's "performance" in the 05 cotton bowl.

I'm not sure if you're referring to me about TT winning the conference, I didn't say that, I picked Texas A&M. I predicted TT to beat Texas which they have done in the recent past (either in 2002 or 2003). TT has had the top passing offense in the NCAA since 2001 I believe, so that is like 4 years in a row. Does that translate into them winning the Big 12? Not yet, but Mike Leach is bringing in top QB's and WR's as well as ATH's (big suprise in this offense) and will within the next 3 years win a division title. Each year there D is improving and they have one of the top RB's in the nation (Taurean Henderson) returning. They are not a pass-happy do nothing team like Hawaii, they can run and play D, but no to the level of the big boys in the Big 12, yet. Yet being the key word....

Texas, hands down.
And, don't be surprised if Southern Cal doesn't make the Rose Bowl; the two teams that might show up there for the NC are...
Texas & LSU

Might is the keyword :D
We'll just see on Sept 24. And most likely at the SEC Championship.

But I have to agree with you about Southern Cal. People on these boards have convinced me that Chow will be imposible to replace, and posibily cost the Trojans their 3rd straight tital.

But Texas going the Rose Bowl? I doubt it. With an early road game at Ohio state, and Oklahoma at a neutral site: Undefeated is not probable. Also I think Texas Tech will give the longhorns a run for their money at Austin.

I dont think the effects of losing Chow will be fully felt this season. They will return enough starters on offense, including the QB who has only lost one game in the past 2 years, to know how to work together and get things done.

All i got was "uglier than tennessee orange"

i think that fanpeckerwood- franchoine

earn his pay and win this year-finally will perform as advertised

that said

since ole mack-mack brown

has been at that "uglier than UT orange" orange school-refering to the
disgusting shade of orange that is the school color at the university of texas

multiple people pick them to win-they are highly rated

and they choke-they dont perform as expected

i dont think old brown has any win in him-mack brown is a loser

Ha-Ha
Right; might is key for sure.

Hopefully, it will be the Vols or the Tigers in Pasadena.

I believe Texas might just get it done this year. Their QB is absolutely awesome and they appear to be very deep everywhere. I think they will take Ohio State and Oklahoma and also give Texas Tech a spanking.

The good thing, though, I think that either LSU or Tennessee could beat them in a Rose Bowl showdown.

I think OU beats Texass in the RRS, but OU stumbles more than once during the season, sending UT to the perfunctory (and wholly uninteresting) "big" xii title game. I have ISU or the Buffs getting demoralized in that one.

Not only did Southern Cal lose Chow, but didn't they also lose their DC, Orgeron?
We'll now see if "Mr. Hollywood" can really coach or whether or not his OC and DC were, in fact, carrying him. Pete Carroll does, however, have oodles of talent with which to work!

They lost some other coaches, too, no? I'm pretty sure they lost four....
