I just saw a segment on Sportscenter about Drew and his tactics as an NFL agent.
For those of you who don't know, he encourages players to hold out and get better deals. An example of this, Terrel Owens is his client who is holding out to make even more money than he already does. Drew has also been accused of breaking NFL Player's Association rules by initiating contact with other agent's clients.
On th flip side, he believes that if players out perform their contracts, they are entitled to a new contract.
So, what do you think? Do you agree with Drew Rosenhaus or do you think he is a slime bag?

Anybody who gets them players to hold out and cry just to make more money than most of us will ever see is a slime bag.Them players and paid more than enough money.

I think he is a slime bag. He talks the athletes making MILLIONS of dollars into holding out to make even more. When these players hold out and ask for bigger contracts, they are hurting their team in 2 ways:
1. They are taking up cap space that could be used to sign other players to improve the team.
2. They are not practicing or working out with their team therefore not doing everything they possibly can to be a better team.
Take Edgerton Hartwell who just signed with the Falcons for example. Ed took less money so he could play for the Falcons and the Falcons could have more cap room to spend on other players. He is a true example of a team player.
What ever happened to "there is no I in team"?

Pro sports would do well to get rid of agents altogether.
It'd be such an ideal world if every sport had a salary cap and ever team had a set 'tier structured salaries' that made up that cap. Then, at each team's discretion, have a pay-for-play incentive side where players earn the rest of their pay by how well they perform on the field. Instead of stickers on your helmet in Pop Warner football, you get $$$ instead. All this guaranteed money teams are throwing at untested players is the reason a lot of them just don't work hard...why should they? They've already got all the money they need & most aren't smart enough to realize that while teh average joe can (has to?) work till they're 50-60something years old, they have to make the brunt of their money before they're mid-thirties. I realize that's why they want this guaranteed money upfront...if they get injured, there goes their way of making money. Is that much different from the roofer who falls and breaks their back? All the more reason to work hard in college & have something to fall back on...which your football ability paid for.
The only thing agents do is dirty the game and Drew Rosenhaus' "sign 'em and hold 'em out" style is telling kids it's ok to go back on a promise you made to someone. And how to pout until you get your way. And to expect something you don't deserve.

Even if he were on the up-and-up, I'd still hate him because he sounds so obnoxious when he talks.

I gotta agree with you, he is obnoxious...I saw that Sports Center thing with him on it, like 10 times, and he really was annoying. But also, there was the thing about him contacting players while they still have another agent, which is against league rules and idk maybe the law. From the Sports Center segment it looked pretty obvious that he did it, and that overall he wasn't that good at covering it up either. Also, you have to say he's a slime bag because look at this year....there have been loads of holdouts, and mostly that's thanks to him. He's hurting teams by having these players holdout.
