I still say I am glad that Spurrier checks into academics before offering scholarships. Still no guarantee, but it helps.

I just noticed over 66% of Georgia fans on the Atlanta Journal Constitution website have voted so far that they are concerned about losing 6 of their 19 recruits for this season. Only about 50 votes so far.

50 or so votes, that's your key statistic. So very few Dawg fans rely upon the Al-Queda Urinal & Constipation for anything Sports related. Though cited frequently on the boards, the articles are anti-UGA and often slanted to reflect disdain and thus serve to inflame the knowledgeable.
As I posted in another thread, losing 5 to grades isn't good but it isn't some kind of trend nor is it anything which won't be overcome.

It's the same way with the state newspaper in Columbia. Their writers take every chance they get to take a shot at USC. All the while writing fawning articles about Clemson.

It isn't really a concern to me. This happens every year. Georgia's academic standards for athletes are higher than most SEC schools. Most of the guys that don't qualify enroll the next semester.

That is why I pointed out only 50 votes. The AJC is very pro UGA, knowing that since I am a GT fan. There is some concern from their writers about the Dawgs this year, which is very unusual. They are usually talking SEC Championships by now. Why you guys do not care for that paper I have no idea.

51% of 750 votes now. Is that better?

It is actually 4 of 18 that didn't get in.
Jamar Chaney had complications with his SAT score and won't get in.
Darius Dewberry will go to Hargrave for a semester and be with the team after that.
Brandon Sesay will go to JUCO and be back after that.
We are still waiting for verification on Corey Moon. He is still waiting for his SAT score. If he doesn't get in then he will go to Hargrave as well.

Moon didn't make it....it's 6/18 according to AJC.com and UGASports.com.

Well I am going over our commit list from 2005 on UGASports and only count 4. I count Jamar Chaney, Darius Dewberry, Corey Moon, and Brandon Sesay. I suppose Jamar Bryant makes 5 but he was actually a signee back from 2004 that still couldn't get in after a year at Hargrave. Then I guess the 6th could be Brandon Lang but he was from 2004 as well and went to Hargrave but chose not to resign with UGA and go to Troy instead.
So I only count 4 of 18 that were high school seniors last year.
If you want to count Bryant then I guess he goes against our 2004 class and not our 2005 class.
Again, UGA's academic standards for athletes are higher than most SEC schools.

Yeah, I think they were counting all of them. Just a guess.

Well, I am not sure exactly. I know they were raised after the Jan kemp scandal.
