whos to say that this kid can't come in next year and make a run at the starting position. I mean he has the size, the arm, and the intellegence, only thing that I can think of that would be holding him back would be that injury that he sustained to his shoulder but they said that it would be healed and didn't require surgery to fix soo... I think that he is just what we need, a big guy with a big arm that has the brain to boot; didn't he score something outrageous on the SAT. I would think that if he came in with past experience with the fun n' gun (cock n' fire) and could keep that arm healthy he might be the man hooking up with Whiteside, newton murdock and thomas come game day....just a thought!

He lives about 20 mins from my house here in Monroe, NC. I've seen him firsthand so don't be surprised if you see him starting in the garnet and black.

Monroe, Wingate, Concord and Charlotte are starting to be recruiting hotbeds.

The bullet he threw in the 4th or 5th highlight shows he has one h*!! of an arm. And at 6'2 215 I don't doubt it.

Well, it's like I was saying about North Carolina. We really need to recruit this state bad. This state has some really good football talent.

I remember going to see Albert Ashcraft at Monroe, HS almost his entire career. He is going to be a great player for us. I was so impressed when he played against South Piedmont, I actually wrote a letter to Lou Holtz and recommended to him that he take a look at Ashcraft. I also included a few pics that I took and low and behold, he signs him.

The reason Beecher wasn't so highly ranked is that he did NOT participate in any summer camps. (Nike, Rivals, etc, etc)

Right now I live in NC and have seen some impressive talent. I think SC will focus hard in SC, FL, GA, and NC. We have a chance to kill everyone in recruiting in NC.

Looking foward to being in place where basketball doesn't rule the world. It was cool to see N. Carolina win the National Champ and be on Franklin Street. But football sucks here.

Be ready for a lot of excitement in the air here in Columbia. Jewelry Warehouse is selling every Spurrier T-shirt that has ever been made. This town is buzzing for Sept.....

Neo, you think Cade or Tommy have a better shot at playing time? I read a while back that Spurrier had told Cade's HS coach to make sure he was ready when he arrived on campus.

I think both of them have got a shot. Being honest, I'm gonna be cheering for Beecher the most. I've seen the kid firsthand and he's just awesome.

Don't get me wrong, if Cade's the man then will I cheer for him too.

I saw them at spring practice together. Tommy certainly has the size advantage. You can really tell when they are standing beside one another. Guess we will see how it goes. If Heffner craps out for some reason, these two could have a great career at Carolina, maybe starting this year. :)

Tommy has the size numbers but standing next to him he looks small. When I talked to him I said "Tommy dude, look at your self and look at (some current 260-300 lb. DL walks by) him. He is going to be trying to eat you for dinner."

His respone was "I know."

I think the 6-2 is off by 2 inches ( I am 6-3 and I was taller by definitely more then 1 inch) and the 215 is definitly off by 20 or so pounds. Remember that he was probably wearing shock pads under his shoulder pads (adds 2 inches to your chest and shoulders) and probably had rib pads also (most high school QBs do). That might explain why he looked so big on the video.

Yeah I agree. Especially Independence High School in Charlotte. That school produced Chris and CJ Leak, Joe Cox, and Massaqui and probably many more.

Hey after all we did get Ko Simpson from Rock Hill. Rock Hill has some really great athletes. I have seen them play. I live only a couple of minutes away from there.

Any word on Torry Childers. You can never have enough 6' 5" WR's in this league. If we land him, we would have something like 5 WR's of 6'4" or taller.
