It might not be a easy place to get a win, but it is without doubt one of the best college football expierences a fan can ever witness. Everyone who is a fan of college football should go to at least one night game in red stick. I look forward to the Vols and my trip there this fall.

Rocky Top is a cool place to see a game too, if the seats weren't about 8" wide.

1. It's just an internet thing I go by from games and whatnot
2. Because I can't find my Slippery Rock hat I bought at Sports Avenue years ago and I'm holding the university responsible in my own little world. That and I don't really hate any team.

Thank you... and what a beautiful picture of Death Valley at night!
It is undoubtedly one of the best experiences in college football. I hope everyone on these boards will be able to visit Tiger Stadium for a night game.
Incredible!

;)Death Valley at night is an experience, indeed. But heed my warning: If you're going to wear Red & Blue - or if your team has a chance of beating those Swamp Kitties on their home turf, be sure to wear thick skin, a helmet, a rain poncho and a kevlar vest. Projectiles, insults, beer and possibly other objects will no doubt be flying in abundance.

Now BD, you know better...
1st -- no one on the schedule has a chance to beat the Tigers at home at night; especially no one wearing Red & Blue.
2nd -- we are kind to visitors, often offering them delicacies of the tailgate, etc., unless, of course they just happen to be wearing Red & Blue and make the fatal mistake of uttering "Hotty Toddy" above a whisper.

:pI think that UTee will give you a run for your money, on your home turf this year. Ole Miss has done it in the past (remember 2001?) and will do it again, but y'all come to VHS this year...
I've yet to experience this "kind to visitors" thing in Red Stick. I have seriously been met with much animosity in your neck of the woods.

Hey, I'm planning to come to VH this year for the game. Will I be safe in my LSU togs? Where is the best place to park? Eat? Spend the night?
By the way, I watched a replay of that 2001 game just the other day. It was a great testimony to the Reb's spirit and especially to the talent of Eli. Even though ya'll handed us our butts at night in Death Valley, it was a really good ball game -- as are most of the games between Ole Miss and LSU. I expect this year's version a VH to be equally as good. Orgeron will want to show his Cajun cousins what he's all about.

Yea you'll be safe. Hang out in the Grove, be merry.
Best place to park is probably going to be one of the big parking lots on Old Taylor Road right off the overpass since you can't park on the highway anymore. Also, you can try staying in one of the Oxford hotels but I don't know how filled up they get since I never stay in one. Batesville is the best option if they are out of space and you want somewhere close. Best place to eat? Just take your pick of anything on the Square...City Grocery, Proud Larry's, anywhere, it's all great food.
Looking forward to the game. Hopefully our defense will be settled in to the run-stopping 4-3 groove so you guys don't just send Broussard running over us again. Will be fun as always! :D

You'll absolutely be safe. Some good natured jeering will be thrown your way, but not much more than that. Best place to park is at one of the new lots right off of Hwy 6 at Old Taylor Rd. It's a bit of a hike, but that's to be expected. I heard rumor that there might be shuttles, but no official word on that. If you like catfish, you have to check out Taylor Grocery. I'd say that you should grab a slice at Pizza Den, but alas, it is no more. The Library would be a fun place to hang out on Friday night - the scenery is world class. I agree, we'll be looking to make it a good game, we always do. If you're really gonna come, let me know and you can hang with some of us in The Grove and knock back a few before the game. We might make you wear red & blue as your entry price though ;)

Thanks Cianne and BD. Good info. I'll definitely check back with you closer to the game so that we can hook-up.
And Neesy, you did not have to bring up that statistic! But ain't it the truth. Of course, you failed to mention the other side of that... how successful we have been in Tuscalooser.
Thanks guys.

I totally agree. LSU has the best fans in the nation.
I wish ESPN College Gameday with LEE CORSO would come back though....
