It was very pleasing to see this spring. 4 QB's in a line, each under center, throwing pass after pass after pass. No draws, no learning how to run off tackle. Learning how to throw a football. Beside them was THE MASTER, a Heisman Trophy winner himself, watching every single move, every step, every throw. Watching him coach is amazing. He is not simply looking for completed passes. He shows them how to hold the ball as they drop back, how many steps to take, where to release, when to release, and goes through it over and over again. I read a very interesting article from one of Spurrier's former UF QB's yesterday, who was saying that to play QB for Spurrier, you have to get inside his head. You have to think like he thinks. He went on to say you don't have to have the strongest arm, nor do you have to be the best athlete (Said he was not a very good athlete at all), but he learned to think like Spurrier. He said his first start, normally being second string, he threw for over 500 yds., and did it fairly easily. He said that playing for Spurrier was one of the best experiences of his life, though he warned the Carolina QB's to be ready come August, because he would begin to test them from day one. People say we have no QB. I know it's not all the best right now, but we have The Master coaching them, and he does not seem all that concerned. It will be interesting to see who starts, and if you ever get a chance to catch a practice, by all means do. You will not be disappointed.

I've no doubt that Heffner, once comfortable in the system, will flourish given his physical ability. I saw enough in the Spring Game to get excited about his potential...

Mitchell can go get drunk in 5-points, stand on pool tables and get his arse kicked by bouncers every Saturday, for all i care. Talk about immaturity personified...

I just don't understand what's up with all of these "Blake Lovers" or "Blaker's" for short? Are they seeing things that the rest of the USC fan base is missing?

well considering the QB with Spurrier experience claims you need to be able to get into Spurrier's head and think like him, i don't think we need to worry about Blake getting much playing time this year.

Yeah...Flake er...I mean Blake can go kick some %&*# as far as I'm concerned. Last I heard, he was still a typical "Party Animal" instead of keeping his butt in that filmroom.

i'll admit that i've gone through stretches where i didn't work nearly as hard as i should have. i've been lazy before, and i've spent too much time having fun instead of studying. but i never let it get to the point where i was wasting the academic opportunities available to me. blake has (had?) the chance to be QB for one of the best college QB minds in the history of the game, and he's COMPLETELY wasting it. how can you be so self-destructive? maybe he's never really liked football that much but was just naturally good at it and pushed along throughout high school...otherwise i don't get it.

Neither do I or the rest of the USC faithful. For the life of me, I still don't understand this "Blake" fixation they have? I wasn't impressed in the Spring Game at all. He looked rather scared in the pocket and that was without a pass rush.

I think the fans, that are Blake followers, are still going by his HS Qb rating. Sure he hasn't been the true starter for our team yet and has played minimally. But add these together with his party like its 1999 attitude and he'll never be the starter. He's a junior now and if he can't step up and show some leadership by now then he never will. Just my two cents.

He's working on that. I saw him Tuesday eating chicken at Bernie's. That will help thicken him up if he does it often enough. I should know!

Amazing. Spurrier tells them not to be eating chicken there anymore, and who is there? Freakin incredible. Drinking a beer with it I suppose.

This guy seems to do EVERYTHING he is asked not to. What the heck?? How does he stay?? Guess it doesn't really matter. Anyone who has seen him play, knows he can't.

Yeah, why cant HE get kicked off of the team to free up a scholly instead of our great backs?? The kid gets a free ride through college because he USED to be good at football. What the hell??!!

It does make you wonder why you would be so damn dumb to blow the opportunity for a free ride through school, just for running (or passing) up and down the field or playing defense where you can headhunt at will. I mean to take nothing away from the effort (some of) these guys put into playing at the D1 level, but when I think about scholly versus student loan, I would be working my arse off to learn whatever the coaches system was so that my free ride would stay just that, free.

Dare I say that when you take a narrow arse, Bernie's chicken, over indulgence in beer, ph****ed up attitude and wiener-like work ethic, what do you get...........
