That Tim Tebow came through S.C. and visited Clempson, bypassing the Cocks. His dad actually said that "clempson was known for developing quarterbacks"...Really? I did not know that. I believe lbs and rbs are developed at Clempson...I cant think of a qb who was...Is Tim on crack or is he just waiting. Right now it sounds like he deserves the kittens

it would be pretty bizarre if he's not at all interested in USC.....he apparently isn't interested in the Gators anymore, but he grew up a huge Gator/Spurrier fan. if he simply wants to win a national championship then that's understandable why Michigan would take the lead, but why would Clemson be in the mix....they're not going to be winning titles any time soon.

plus at michigan chad henne would be around for at least one more season when tebow would arrive.

i think if we do decently well this season USC would jump right back into the mix.

of course i don't know nearly as much about the recruiting process as others on this site though.

Spurrier's QBs rarely end up much of anything in the NFL. Lifelong backups. I would say never but I'm not entirely sure on that. Clemson probably isn't any better under Bowden seeing how Dantzler is a special teams guy, but Whitehurst is being touted as great despite last year.

I don't think Spurrier has offered much for scholly's yet. He's been quoted as saying he doesn't like offering before the season starts. Probably why all these recruits don't have us high on their list yet. And we all know how much merit there is in favorites at this point in the season. ;)

Actually Spurrier has offered a LOT of scholarships already, to some of the best talent out there. The best athletes are the hardest to get, so that is why you have not seen many, if any commits as of yet. He is all over the state of Georgia and Florida especially right now. Still going after WR's, and now even a couple of OL I believe. :)

I know he has offered Tebow and I'm sure he has been all around talking with other recruits. I guess what I meant to say was I don't think Spurrier has been beating down doors just yet. These high schoolers, and I would say a good 85%+, have no clue where they are going to play at the next level and even the ones that have commited already are good candidates to change their minds. Don't you think it just makes good business sense for a kid to make a commitment now so he'll feel secure about his future in case he doesn't get the total offers he is hoping for? It seems like everytime I read somewhere we are interested in someone, somebody like East Carolina has already offered the kid. Does that mean that Skip Holtz knows more about recruiting than Spurrier? I don't think so. Plus I feel SOS wants to do his talking on the field. I think if a kid sees us have a better year this year than last year, then the booze and hookers that teams like Femson have promised won't hold up.

You are correct. Spurrier only offers the "Cream of the Crop" early. Take a look at the thread "USC Recruiting" in the recruiting section. Spurrier has offered plenty of kids at this junction.
