The coaches have told Succop that theres a really good chance that he could come in and take over the kick off duties and compete for field goal duties. Succop says his main goal is win the starting spot as place kicker. He was ranked as one of the best players for his position coming out of high school. 96% of his kickoffs resulted in touchbacks. He hit 12 out of 14 field goals with a long of 42 yards. He says that is just because his team didnt attempt many long ones this year. As a junior he hit a 53 yard field goal.

Sounds to me like he has the perfect combination of leg strength and accuracy. Something tells me he will put a LOT of points on the board during his career at SC. :)

He could wind up being the jewel of SOS's first recruiting class.....

When was the last time USC had a half-decent kicker?

I disagree....

Back in the "Black Magic" days, we had a kicker by the name of Collin Mackie. He was a really good kicker.

Daniel Weaver wasn't terrible. He just couldn't hit anything beyond 40 yards.

That is a position we could certainly sure up. I got sooooo tired of us having to go for it on fourth and long so many times because we did not have a decent kicker. Those 3 pointers add up.

Yep...for the last few years we have been missing a consistent kicker.
