Tommie Frazier to be Doane's head football coach

CRETE, Neb. (AP) - Former Nebraska quarterback Tommie Frazier was hired Tuesday as coach at Doane College, his first head coaching job in college football.
Frazier takes over for Fran Schwenk, who was 114-87-3 and is now coach at William Jewel College in Liberty, Mo. Doane College is an NAIA school that plays in the Great Plains Athletic Conference.
Frazier was one of the best option quarterbacks to play for Nebraska, helping the Cornhuskers win the 1994 and '95 national championships.
He had been working as assistant director of athletic development at Nebraska. Before that he had served as an assistant at Baylor for four years.
Frazier played one season of professional football in 1996 with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League.
