Although I grew weary of those damn fade patterns, Wuerffell was one heck of a player and a good guy.

Heisman Trophy winner Danny Wuerffel, who'll be at Dreamland BBQ Ribs in Norcross from 6-8 p.m. Thursday for a book signing, gives five reasons why his old coach, Steve Spurrier, will be a hit at South Carolina:
1. He's from the Southeast. He won the Heisman in the SEC and coached Florida to arguably one of the greatest decades in college football.
2. His offense is fun to watch. The SEC could use another dose of the high-thrills Fun 'N Gun offense.
3. Plenty of excitement on the sideline. SportsCenter will have more highlights than just what happens on the field.
4. Press conferences worth watching. It's refreshing to have someone who actually says what they're thinking.
5. He can win. The time is right for South Carolina to win an SEC championship, and Spurrier's the man for the job.
