Coach Les Miles received a commitment from quarterback Alex Cate (6’1”, 180) from Salt Lake City, Utah, according to Rivals.com. Alex Cate is a big-time propsect who had already received offers from Iowa, Miami, Arizona, Nebraska, and Colorado, according to reports. I do not know a whole lot about Cate but he must have a lot of confidence in his playing ability to commit to LSU with JaMarcus Russell and Matt Flynn being redshirt sophomores and Ryan Perrilloux being a true freshman next season.
