That is truly insane. It is just downright un-American to assume that the kid cheated or something even after he had been cleared by the NCAA to play. Sure he can go somewhere else and play, but if his dream was to play at UGA and he did everything by the book, then it is absolutely shameful to deny him that opportunity. Silver, I hope that there is some kind of a backlash to rectify the situation or at least prevent it from happening again in the future.

Hopefully there will be. UGA fans on all internet message boards are absolutely livid. Some are ready to storm Michael Adam's house. They are giving out addresses, email addresses, and phone numbers. This is going to get serious.

Good deal. Rivals or not, it sucks to see any kid (especially a good one) turned away by some high-minded administrators. If he worked his a$$ off to improve his score, then he is exactly the kind of guy you want in your university.

Very understandable, Britches. Sounds like the recruit did all of the right things and was then punished for it. Too bad.

I agree....

This is just gonna give everybody else ammo when it comes to recruiting. On a personal note, this is quite sad. The kid jumped through everyone's hoops only to get the shaft.

To make the matter even worse, the proctor for Jamar's SAT test even vouched that everything was legit. Jamar paid for special classes to get his SAT score up. He has receipts from them as well. Neither of these 2 things were good enough for some POS board.

This board is punishing Jamar for wanting to be a better student and ending up a better student because of it. What a joke our school has become.

Dude that board member should be tarred and feathered.... What's Mr. Chaney going to do now? Is he going to another school?

Chaney told some of his teammates that due to his fear that an appeal would take too long and he'd run the risk of missing the season, that he would seek another place to play.

Word is that he is in Gainesville, per a family member. Richt gave a terse remark to the AUC stating only that Chaney was denied admission. No comment as of yet from AD Damon Evans.....

Several hours ago, I was told that the Coaching Staff was in a meeting at Butts-Mahre and that they were livid over this. If they are half as pissed off as the Dawg fans on the boards are, Monday will be a very tumultuous day in Athens!

Gotta agree Silver Britches, today it ain't so good being a Dawg.

I have read an article with him directly and he is very upset. He is in Gainesville right now meeting with academic people. He will most likely make a decision around Tuesday.

If he does go to Florida, I will never pull harder for a UF player. I hope he becomes a 4 year academic all american and he calls Michael Adams and Damon Evans and tells them to stick it up their arses. A part of me wants him to single handedly beat us in JAX. Of course I don't really want that to happen but that is how upset I am right now.

Good luck to Jamar wherever life takes him.

Couple this in with the fact that our players keep getting arrested and I'm just embarassed and about ready to say the hell with it. All of our rivals can just give us hell and all we can do is endure it.

Even worse is this is 2 recruits in 2 years that have been denied. That should given Fulmer and Meyer plenty of ammo to recruit against us. I don't blame them.

And you know Spurrier will definetly use this as ammo as well! ;)

Bad news, our piece of sh*t president Michael Adams and his cronies (including our AD Damon Evans (aka Adam's yes man) have denied another recruit admission today. Jamar Chaney, a LB from south florida, was already in Athens getting ready for his first workout as a Dawg tomorrow and then he finds out he had been denied admission due to a problem with his SAT score. Apparently a month ago the SAT board alerted him that his score had jumped a good bit and was under review. His score was a 1260 with a 2.9 GPA. He was fully qualified by the clearing house. Apparently some UGA admissions board thinks his score is too high for his GPA so they denied him admission. This really pains me. He is a great kid, never been in any trouble, and was ecstatic about playing for UGA. What a shaft he was handed. The kid was crying in an interview done when he returned home. He is probably going to play for Florida now. Congrats UF, you got a good player but most importantly a quality kid.

Michael Adams has it in for our football program and he just might get his wish and run Mark Richt out of town. I bet that FSU job looks mighty good right now. You think Bowden, Phulmer, Meyer, and Tubberville have to put up with this sh*t. This will no doubt hurt recruiting especially in Florida.

The other Florida signees we had are very upset about this. These 3 guys were very close. If I were one of them I would ask out of my LOI.

UGA football is an embarassment to all UGA graduates and fans. This is the worst offseason I can remember in quite some time.

Sorry to have to post this but I need to vent my anger.

Sorry, Silver. Maybe you should come to the dark side, lol. Things are going really well in Gainesville these days! Chaney looks OK, and I imagine we'll take him, but he's only a 3-star guy. It's not like you lost a monster, 5-star all-American. And with our great LB class last year, in addition to Siler and Everett, I'm not sure how much playing time he'll see anyway. I'm sort of suprised he picked Florida....we didn't even offer the kid originally.

Aside from that, he'll always be a dawg in my mind.....so, I can't really root for him, no matter what he does. His heart isn't in being a Gator....and, thus, my heart can't follow him. We'll see what happens. Maybe Meyer will beat it out of him, lol.

Tough break....no matter how you look at it.
