Thanks for the link, JN. Are ya'll going to be able to get Caudle, the QB from the Birmingham area?
;)

He is a lock for Auburn in my opinion. He is good. I think (and hope) we sign Chris Smelley from right here in Tuscaloosa if we sign a QB.

I was surprised to see Tim Tebow, the QB out of Fla, rated as low as #23. He has received a lot of hype in the last year and is supposed to be a real stud.

I would say that Bama has a shot at him. He could come in and play right away in one of the most storied programs in the SEC and the nation. It is a place where he definitely would get noticed. If he's a smart kid, and I think he is, he will see the implications.

I don't think you have much of a chance with Mustain. He is likely going to Arkansas or Texas.

On the other hand, I think you have a very good shot at Tebow. He isn't as much of a gator lock as anyone else. One of my buddies has a niece that is a cheerleader at Nease HS (where Tebow plays) and she says that he really likes Bama. Apparently a former Nease receiver is playing at Bama and he is working Tebow hard. Also, UF also has a QB commitment and a loaded depth chart. Not saying he is going to Bama but they have a realistic chance.

I have heard he is really close to a lock to stay in Alabama. I thought he was favoring Auburn. McNeil being the top OT in the nation won't hurt Auburn either.

If South Carolina has a decent season, SOS may be a factor with Tebow and/or Mustain.

I agree. Any QB who stops and does a little thinking will see the positive implications for going with Darth Visor. Where else could a QB get such coaching, and, if he's good, get showcased immediately? If I was coming out as the greatest QB in high school, I would jump at the chance to play for Spurs.

Unfortunatley for the Cocks, Mustain will be deciding this summer. I think Tebow will decide this summer as well. I'm just glad we got our boy Matthew Stafford. Now hopefully the studs will follow him.

I believe Spurs will get a top ranked QB this year. He signed 2 state championship winners last year. Maybe they will turn out to be great. Who knows? But after signing 2 of the top 10 WR's last year, I believe he will get some more big WR's and a top QB this year.

I'm sure he will be after some good OL's to block for them also.

That's just more reason for SOS to lure them.

What? You said if USC has a good season it will help South Carolina get some interest from these guys. Then I told you that both would likely be committing before the summer.

Tebow was just on Rivals radio....he's "open," but from interviews and phone calls, it's really down to Florida, Trojans, OU, and Michigan. There are others, of course, F$U, Miami, and usc, among others, but those are the four schools he really speaks about with enthusiasm. IMO, TT was sort of giving OU some lip service, out of respect for Stoops and what they've been able to accomplish, but I think Michigan is our biggest threat.

I really believe he's still ours to lose. People are fooling themselves if they think a little competition is going to send a recruit packing. Nearly all teams take more than one QB at some point....and the Gator legacy means more than you might think. Unless Meyer completely drops the ball--or signs Fayson--TT will be in O&B, imo.

No, SOS already HAS their interest. I was saying a good season would only help. You said they both will commit during the summer. In that case, SOS can sell them on the fact of what he WILL do and that he NEEDS a QB.

I didn't say the only way for us to land them is have a good season and they stay uncommited. We all know what commitments mean. As for me, I would rather have a signature on NSD.

Verbally committing and signing that LOI on February 2, 2006 are two totally different things. He can say he's going to the University of Alaska right up until football season starts but if the Cocks catch magic in a bottle this season, no one can say he wouldn't have to think about changing his mind between now and National Signing Day. He'd be crazy not to at least give it some thought, especially given how much exposure Spurrier's generated without even having coached a game.

This early, all recruiting save a few personal reason locks is speculation. A lot of things can happen over the course of a college football season.

I agree with Wayz.....It's way too early to tell, besides...we all know it happens, these kids will constantly have some one in their ear saying go here, or you should go there....some will even have some at their doors with offers that would be hard to refuse!

I apologize for being confusing. That's the down side of communicating over the net. I was pretty vague and probably would have confused myself.
