The 5 star rankings were released today and Matt came in as the a 5 star, #2 overall QB, and #17 overall player. This kid is the real deal.

Where does this leave Joe Cox? I guess you can never have too many 5-star QB's.... :cool:

Joe will come in and compete for the 2006 starting job as well. Its easy to overlook guys like him when you get a commit with as much hype as Stafford has. Mark Richt has not promised these kids anything. Competition will make all these guys better.

A positive in Stafford's favor is that he will be enrolling in December, thus participating in bowl practices, offseason conditioning, and spring ball. He gets all of this before he starts his freshman season. That is a big advantage.

Joe Cox was a 4-star QB I believe but don't forget about Blake Barnes...Barnes has the size 6'4 215 and was Mississippi player of the year and elite-11 QB as well a few years back.

We will have an abundance of QB's and RB's...how often does that happen?

Cox was actually a 3 star but that is irrelevant. Blake Barnes was another highly rated HS QB. He hasn't picked up the offense as quickly as Richt would like. He still has time though.

Not trying to rain on anyones parade, but I have a funny feeling about this one. I wouldn't start cheering just yet. Wait until he actually enrolls. :cool:
