All that shows me is that Bowden is willing to accept everyone elses waste products. Good for him. LOL

I don't see him hunting down any of the thirteen players from your team that have been arrested since November. It seems that USC has plenty of waste products (and, incidentally, isn't getting rid of them all).

I wouldn't throw rocks Clemsun. UGA has had two (2) players arrested in a little over two (2) weeks.

Also, what's Richt doing about it .... White is gone for a DUI. Spurrier, although he's claiming to be coming down hard isn't really doing it. The point I was making is that Schaefer talking with Tommy Bowden isn't indicative of Bowden taking "trash" from other programs. Schaefer is a kid that had an incident that isn't unlike what many of us have had .... he's certainly not "trash" for protecting his girlfriend. On the other hand - Derrick Watson and "Meat" Summers ... those guys are trash; and Tommy Bowden didn't try to track down either one of them. Carolina fans throw lots of stones from their glass cathedrals.

You need to smell what you're shoveling. Why was Schaeffer kicked off of the UT squad? He was beating up on a guy and it was caught by a surveillance camera. According to what I've heard, the man in question didn't provoke Schaeffer not one bit.

Schaeffer was charged with Assault and Battery. Now tell me how he's (Bowden) not picking up UT's trash?

As far as Spurrier cleaning house, Did Richt dismiss Darrius Swain? After three (3) arrests and now sentenced to jail time, he's still on the team.

What about the player that was charged with Unlawful Entry? The one that was drunk and went into someone else's dorm?

Misdemeanor assault and no mention of any baseball bat. I'd like to see a credible source on that baseball bat crack (no pun intended :) )

Honestly, I know Tommy Bowden and would be shocked if he took him believing that he's a thug. Bowden's not about that .... he hasn't really had any problems with the players that he's brought in. Sure there were some problems with some of West's guys but he didn't stand for it - he pretty much immediately kicked them off the team. Eric Sampson was one guy that he dismissed (I think possesion of pot) and then he let him earn his way back onto the team. Sampson ended up straightening himself out and graduating. He later was very public about how Bowden changed his life. I know alot of coaches (including Spurrier) are like that and truely care about their players. I don't think anyone in here knows the circumstances surrounding Schaeffer's ordeal. I will stand by what I said earlier though .... NOBODY from USC has the credibility (at this point) to be throwing stones at Bowden for talking with Schaeffer ... especially a USC fan. Spurrier laid down the law (supposedly) back in March and Newton and St. Preaux are still on the squad .... look in the mirror before you bend your halo.

A baseball bat was brandished at one point, but not used. Jneesy is not a stickler for the facts.

yep but if your in a knife fight and a gun is brandished you tend to give up rather fast but ut fans arent picky about reality

YAY! I was hoping that after a couple weeks we would be talking about the same old stuff....what reality are we discussing here?

The reality of ignorant, childish, big headed brat fighting over his girlfriend?
The reality of his being "released from the team"? ;)
The reality of the University of Tennessee NOT being the only school in the SEC with such problems?
The reality of the ever so popular, yet supposidly too easy Fulmer handling the situation?
The reality of Brent wanting to leave since last year?
The reality of "trash" or not Brent has potential and it looks like some others may very well benifit from that.

I am just wondering.

Okay first of all Newton did nothing wrong when he supposedly go arrested no punches were thrown that is why he is on the team! And all the players that are being arrested were Holtz players and the shouldnt be counted towards Spurriers discipline skills. :p

Reading your post, one would think that Schaffer used a baseball bat to beat up someone which clearly did not happen. See, people like you criticize without having even the slightest grasp of the facts. A fight turns into a beating with a baseball bat. An alleged rape turns into three rapes. This is merely a message board and I am not claiming that you should have to hold yourself up to the highest journalistic standards. What I am saying is that you should make some effort to ensure that what you say has some basis in fact. You can be sure that I will always try to extend the same courtesy when criticizing your team.

Oh my bad, I didn't realize that Tennessee is holding the paton on thuggish behavior....I mean since it NEVER EVER happens at anyother school. Please forgive my mistake.

Anyone remember Cecil Collins? He was frequently called "Cecil the Diesel" and was a tremendous RB at LSU. But... he was constantly in trouble, usually for stalking and bothering and, eventually, raping women. After we ran him off, he got into the pros (Miami, I think) but got convicted of something and got sent to prison.

He was terrible for LSU and for SEC football, in general. ALL of us have had bad eggs in our basket at one time or another. We haven't had any bad problems in a few years, but we had our share, especially in the DeNardo and Curly Hallman eras.

I agree, with the exception of South Carolina. Our boys have been set up. They're actually good and decent human beings. :D

I hope he does go to Clemson. He is a good QB and will make the USC vs. Clemson game more interesting to a national auidence. Sports Illistrated said the SC vs. Clemson rivalry game was the most underated game. It was in the August 27, 2001 issue on page 57 in case any one was wondering or incredulous!

P.S. Does any one know what SI said about all the SEC teams this year in their pre-season football issue. I would really appreciate a synopsis!

Sorry, I get a little carried away when it comes to clemson sometimes. Football is an inherently violent game though.

You forgot the word "Again"... or maybe you could use "once more"... or maybe we could shoot for a whole other bone all together.
