Living in Tennessee I know James Banks has been in his fair share of trouble at UT and I know that his being dismissed from the team was well deserved, but trying to get back on the team as a walk on with a new lease on his life I thought he had a pretty good shot. It seemed like a win win for Tennessee until the pres slapped his plea down. Consider:

1) He wouldn't count toward the scholarship total
2) He could potentially give the vols a much needed PR boost with his "changed way of life" story, and possibly set a good example if in fact his reform was heart felt
3) He is one of, if not their leading recievers that would be returning this year

I also understand he might mess up again and they need to set precedent, but I don't think the risk equals the potential reward considering that he could go a long way in helping turn the program arround.... Your thoughts?( Harry Carry style)

I whole heartedly agree. Welcome to SEC Talk!

I really like JB. I wish him the best. I hope he really turns it around and that someday I see him in the NFL.
